White House staff ‘gnashing their teeth’ over ‘toxic’ Lewandowski’s imminent return
news that his fired ex-campaign manager Corey Lewandowski may return to lead the president’s Russia “war room” has, according to The Daily Beast, caused concern among staffers.
Lewandowski’s imminent return is the reported cause of “senior Trump administration officials gnashing their teeth” in trepidation for the president’s former campaign manager to come into the Trump administration in a “crisis management” capacity.
“It would be another trainwreck,” an anonymous White House official “bluntly” told the Beast. The official said they’re “dreading that it could even happen,” but that it appears Lewandowski will, at the very least, be “outside” the White House itself.
Other White House staffers who spoke with the Beast confirmed that Lewandowski “won’t be in the White House proper,” and will be more of a “shadow adviser”.
“When, not if, he does something crazy, there’ll at least be a degree of separation,” one official noted.

The Russia scandal is big, but among the growing number of voters who favor impeaching Trump in the Politico/Morning Consult poll, the reason they want the President removed from office isn't crimes, but that he is unfit to occupy the Oval Office.
The Morning Consult/Politico poll has been one of the more favorable polls to Trump, but even their poll revealed that
support for impeachment has grown from 38% to 43% since their last poll.
Morning Consult reported on their poll, “For the Americans who said they want to see Republicans impeach a sitting president of their own party, their desire appears to be borne from the notion that Trump is generally unfit for office.
More than half (54 percent) of the voters who said Trump should be impeached said it was because “he is unfit to serve,” while
43 percent said it was because they thought Trump had committed an impeachable offense, such as treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.
A majority of Democrats (54 percent) and independents (56 percent) who said Trump should be impeached cited a lack of fitness for the presidency,
while a slim plurality of Republicans (48 percent) agreed.”
