Yeah that's kinda my point. They have a system where linebackers thrive and are replaced easily, so why would they break the bank for the ones they have hitting free agency. Keeping their elite passing game together is a higher priority, imo.

Yeah, but I think Lewis is a bigger part of that system than you realize. They've changed all their coaches over the years, and that factory looks just as good. With Lewis, Jameel McClain looked like a legitimate starter. When Lewis was out, he looked like he'll be cut this off-season. It's just the risk they run.

I ultimately agree with you, though. I think they need to keep Boldin and even Jones over Ellerbee and Kruger. They need to draft good player with high picks and not trade down this year. It would be nice to have a Chandler Jones in the wings like the Patriots do.

Yall have Courtney Upshaw tho so he and Suggs is enough talent at OLB to let Kruger leave. I think Jones will be good but an ankle sprain rendering him completely useless isn't a good sign about how reliant he is on freakish athleticism.

Hopefully the rumors of Ed Reed going to New England if Baltimore can't resign him, but I call total bull on that one. I think Baltimore finds a way to keep him Boldin, and Flacco, while they go into next season with less talent at ILB but a better secondary w/ Webb back and a better pass rush w/ a healthy Suggs and Ngata.
