Guy is probably right about Russia taking Ukraine or at least parts of it. He's suffering from peegarden syndrome imagining WW2 all over again though.

Joe has always liked to talk tough, but I have faith in his ability to take it like a when push comes to shove.

I don't think it will be long either.

Russian parliament recognized independence of two states in Donbas.

Russian media as of Wednesday report discovery of mass graves.

Lining up the ducks to move in to those areas to protect "Russians", using the massed troop formations elsewhere to inhibit any opposition from Ukraine for this seizure of territory.

Russia claims mass civilian graves found in Donbas
Moscow accuses Ukraine of genocide against Russian-speakers.

    Day before the above:
Russia's parliament votes to recognize separatist regions in eastern Ukraine

At this point, I don't think Putin can really walk it back.

He is going in, but the only question is how far?

His pattern of use of force suggests just taking the two territories.

Pattern of military build up suggests the whole thing is a distinct possibility. One doesn't build pontoon bridges on a less used part of the river unless one is seriously contemplating using it...

Hearing most oligarchs and politicians have abandoned Kyiv

Zelensky says hes staying put but either he has a chopper ready at minute notice or hes getting Epsteined.

If there was a Defcon 1.5. I would officially set it now.
Zelensky is in Munich to meet with Kamala

He could take all of Ukraine but holding it long term would be tough for Russia.

I've seen some analysis that says his goal is the East/Southeast over to Crimea. All the commotion in the Northern half is just to freeze the Ukrainian military in place while he achieves his real goal. Seemed to make sense.

Which is why its a stupid move IMO.

We know the economic sanctions will kick in even if Russia starts obliterating Ukranian soldiers from their side of the border. Then why risk your troops and even more economic doom by moving into the hole that is ukraine?

Just let the economic war start. When Russian and Europeans will both have to eat shoes. And see who blinks first (my money is on the ruskies. The europeans are soft doughie pussies)

    Don't need to.

Russia's economy is smaller than Italy's. It can be as immune as you claim to anything but it's still a pathetic backwater economically.

Because of people like your hero Putin.

Don't know why you feel the need to lionize him but you're free to worship whomever you please.
