Hawks L6
wow
Hawks going on a losing streak just in time to raise the value of ATL25 to sweeten the Fox trade.
we arent giving up FRPs for a guy who plays no defense and we can get for free next year. Also guy cant hit three consistently. He is 27 relies on quickness so prime only 3-4 years max.
Hawks play CLE next. A team that they beat 2x already and hopefully will want revenge.
CLE by 40, lfg
If this pick to traded to SAC for Fox, we can close this thread already![]()
Oh yeah. Looks like we‘re catching a break
Like I said before, you never know what a season holds….. unprotected picks are gold! Bars
Man, he was really on a tear
Burn ATL burn!!!
Losing JJ is a huge hit.
I don't see them cracking bottom 8 but i think there's a real chance they miss the play in.
Would be great if Chicago/Toronto/Philly didn't all out tank at the deadline. But I think they will.
Ok, now that pick might be something. I posted it before in this thread that Jalen Johnson was the straw that stirs the drink and 5he player that matters most to their success, not Trae Young.
The next big question is whether ATL accepts their fate this year and rests Young more to keep his Achilles issue from becoming a major injury knowing that without Johnson they have no chance at a fun run in the playoffs
oh men, Sacramento would love to have their 2025 pick right now
I’d be shocked if Johnson ever stays healthy. He was hurt at Duke, hurt last year and now this year. This why I was against trading this year’s ATL pick. Depending on what PHI and CHI do, the Spurs have a real shot at getting a top 5 pick this summer while they can focus on making the play-in this season.
I don't think he was hurt at Duke. He just up and quit.
Yeah, Coach called dude out for not hustling and he outright quit in the middle of the season. By most accounts he was a complete asshole to everyone.
I kinda think this is more reason to wait until the summer on Fox, that, or secure a Top-1 protection.
Yeah, no way you trade this pick. lmao
time for 5D chess guys
Jalen Johnson being out means there is now a stronger chance the hawks miss the playoffs. any thoughts of a cinderella run can be put to bed. this is a lost season for them.
with that being the case, tanking does them no good, as they dont own their pick. they also are projected to be above the cap. without cap space, without their first round pick, will be tough to make improvements.
their main incoming asset is a top 12 protected pick coming from sacto (huerter). as of right now, sacto's projected pick is #13. if sacramento trades fox, it makes it increasingly likely that the hawks will not get that pick this year either. therefore, the worst case scenario for ATL this year is for their season to go down the drain, winding up in the lottery, with the kings also trading fox and getting a better lotto pick, thereby not conveying to ATL
therefore, ATL trading Trae to SA, getting their picks back... allows them to completely bottom out this year and get their shot at Flagg, while also preventing Sacto from unloading Fox, and increasing the odds of them receiving the kings pick as well
the spurs entertain this publicly (or leak it to reporters via "sources"), and then we put Sacto in a position where they may have to lower their asking price for Fox, since the spurs now have options beyond simply waiting until 2026
Look at you…… ok, I see ya!
Hawks still have no incentive to tank.
Bulls and Sixers both need to overtake Hawks in the standings for them to drop out of the play-in.
Bulls will probably give away both Lavine and Vucevic to keep their pick.
While Hawks will continue their slide, it won't be enough to drop them down to 11th seed.
They'll likely finish with 10th best odds.
As I wrote in Fox topic, I think Hawks will definitely be involved in the trade with Spurs and Kings.therefore, ATL trading Trae to SA, getting their picks back... allows them to completely bottom out this year and get their shot at Flagg, while also preventing Sacto from unloading Fox, and increasing the odds of them receiving the kings pick as well
Something like '25 SAC and Hunter to get their picks back is a possibility.
Actually, I think that best case scenario for the Hawks would be getting their picks back, with Trae going to Sacramento.
Kings would stay on a similar level with Fox/Trae trade, Spurs would get better and Hawks would be able to tank.
