and a trip to Carrie's underwoods,
    That was funny.

John Patrick....Truth is good people. He is gonna bring the smack so don't take it personal. Besides...he has cultivated his Dallas hate to an art form because he knows his Broncos are only playing for third in the AFC

(Scott wasn't here so I thought I would take a shot!)

If the Cowboys do something this season, Truth will give props but until they prove something...they will feel his wrath...and I tend to agree.

broncs will have to fight for that wild card, they are light years behind the chargers on both sides of the ball. much better to be in the nfc if you wanna make the super bowl!

Light years? Not so much this year. Jay Cutler IS going to be a great QB. They've added a workhorse RB, the best blocking TE in the league, and Scheffler and Marshall are a year older. The defense is improving, but isn't on the Chargers level yet. But, I can see the competing for the division le this season. People were saying the same the opposite about the Broncos and Chargers before last season. The AFC West is the best in the league, and the Broncos, Chiefs, and Chargers should be battling all season. Chargers are the favorite though.

God, I WISH the broncos were in the NFC.

cutler may be a great qb in a couple years, but he's going to struggle next year, esp in that division.

well your D beats the outaa us in terms of the secondary.

but as for pass rush, run stopping...we got you there, although tim Crowder and Moss will help that tremendously, although I think you couldve gotten Jarvis had you stayed at 21.

Cutler will be great this year, and I look for him to have some huge days against Jammer and Florence, seeing as they both suck. What i wanna know is where the did they get all that cap room?

John Patrick....Truth is good people. He is gonna bring the smack so don't take it personal. Besides...he has cultivated his Dallas hate to an art form because he knows his Broncos are only playing for third in the AFC
    ok

the funny thing is?? He's still a championship QB.
    yeah youre right

i was supried Blades fell that far. redskins got lucky

Cowboys d is a lot better than what Truth will give it credit for. They were great until Ellis went down last year. After he got hurt, we couldnt put any pressure on the QB and the secondary suffered from it the rest of the year. Ellis is coming back, they added Spencer, Carpenter is a year older, and Hamlin will help. I really think that the Boys wil have one of the best d's in the league next year in Wades offense. And somehow to you, Romo could still suck and be a fluke next year but Cutler will be a stud. You should take off your homer shades.

Leak signs free-agent contract with ChicagoESPN.com news services

CHICAGO -- Chris Leak is a Chicago Bear.

Leak, the Florida quarterback who went undrafted in this weekend's NFL draft, signed a free-agent contract with the Bears.

Leak won the college football national championship at Florida last year. His size (a hair under 6 feet tall) was one drawback cited by NFL scouts.

"We were happy that he is with a Super Bowl team like the Bears," his father, Curtis Leak, told the Charlotte Observer on Monday. "It's a good situation for him. That's all that matters to us. I feel great about it."

Leak threw for 2,435 yards and 16 touchdowns last season for Florida.

Florida had eight players selected in the draft, including two in the first round. Defensive end Jarvis Moss went No. 17 to Denver and safety Reggie Nelson was the 21st pick, heading to Jacksonville.

Jammer actually had a pretty decent season last year. Look for Cromartie to get more time this year as well, he showed a lot of promise.

Big difference betweend Cutler (a rookie) actually getting better from start to start, and Romo (a guy in his 3rd year in the system) getting worse as his season went along. I sure am glad that Carpenter is a year older, cause they just drafted someone in the first round to play his position. Just admit that dude is a bust. Everyone else already has. I can never believe that a defense that relies on Roy Williams and Henry in their secondary will ever be anything but average. Your secondary sucks massive balls. MASSIVE. And yet you guys do nothing to help it in the early part of the draft. I love Jerry Jones. As long as he is around, the Cowboys will never be more than mediocre.

It was his first year playing, of course he was going to have ups and downs. Im still not sure he is the future, but he has a lot of potential, so I guess we will see. As far as Carpenter, he was drafted as a outside lb, then Parcells tryed to move him inside, that didnt work, and when Ellis got hurt he replaced him later in the year and did great. Carpenter will probably get more snaps next year than Ellis and Spencer, who are both just pass rushers. Carpenter is going to be a damn good lb due to his coverage skills, speed, and his smarts. Spencer was drafted for depth and a added pass rush, but Carpenter is by far the more well rounded of the 2. And as far as our safetys, yea they suck in coverage, but Id still take em over Lynch, Ferguson and Brandon

We got the best available and another 1st rounder next year in the 1st round, pretty good I think. The Boys didnt have any pressing needs, so we just got the best guy we could. He helps with our depth, pass rush, and overall toughness. Our weakest positions depth wise were lb and dt, we addressed the 1st, and our lb core next year should have great versatility and production. Oh well, Im happy with it, you cant address all your needs, like how your team still doesnt have a #2 reciever

No pressing needs???? You have one "decent" cornerback, two aging wideouts, a very suspect offensive line, and a QB that blew the biggest moment of his life.

Good thing that Carpenter is good in coverage and Spencer is a good pass rusher. Oh wait, those are both going to be needed on passing downs. Carpenter was a wasted pick.

Average corner? You obviously havent seen Newman play, he is a top corner in the league. Henry is pretty good himself, although he hasnt been as productive as most Boys fans would have liked. Yea, our starting recievers are old, but can play one more year, so there wasnt any need to draft one this year, especially with the production our 3 young recievers gave us last year. Our o-line is decent, I know people laugh at the Davis signing which is fine. But we drafted two young guys in rounds 3 and 4 this year, so hopefully they can help as well. I would still take the Boys wide outs over Denvers, our secondary over Denvers, our lbs and d-line over Denvers, and our tightends over Denvers. Qbs are a wash, and the Broncs def have a better o-line, running back and kicker, but thats about it. Talk all the you want about the Boys, but your team isnt much better if at all

lol mardigan. You'd seriously taker your secondary? I'm done arguing with you. Seriously. You are delusional. LOLOLOLOL. What in the has Jason WItten done? I'll take Scheffler and Graham over your TE's every day of the week. ESPECIALLY Sundays. LOL. You are funny man. Leonard Davis is getting paid big bucks? LOL. I love Jerry Jones. Good thing you guys are so good at drafting wasting all that money in Free Agency. Oh wait. Nevermind.Go find some more useless blurbs to post in the offseason thread. You don't need to be arguing actual football. Stick to keeping me updated on the latest waterboy the ans have hired.

damn, i didn't even think witten scored a td last year. guess i was wrong.

    2006 Denver Broncos 13 5 18 286 15.9 29 4 6 0 15

a better avg per catch, more tds in less games. Yeah, i'll take scheffler over witten.

You were never arguing because you never made any points. What has Witten done? I really dont think that needs to be answered, as any Cowboy fan would tell you he is a top tight end in the league. And as a whole, yes, I would take the boys secondary over the Broncos two good players in the whole secondary and no depth. How did their secondary do the second half of the year? Trying to act like your opinion is such a great one, youve never added with anything you have ever said, except letting us all know youve got a mouth full of Jay Cutler ball sack

personally, i would take witten because he is a proven commodity, although not the best blocker. i think denver and dallas have a lot of the same problems - last year both defenses sustained some injuries which affected their ability to rush the passer, and their overall defense really suffered for it. they also both have one really good receiver and another decent one in decline, decent rb tandems, fairly inexperienced qbs, and one really good corner. i think losing al wilson will definitely affect the broncos in a bad way for at least the first quarter of the season.

In the 3-4 LB is the position where you need the most depth. Besides, the reason they took Spencer is because they got Cleveland's 1 (which will probably be top 10) for a 3rd and 5th. It allowed them to give up middle rounders to get back into the late 1st.

Wade Phillip's defense (as evidenced by the Chargers of late) is predicated on a supremely good pass rush to negate the need for exceptional corners or coverage safeties. If they get that kind of pass rush going (which is where the Spencer pick fits) Williams will be allowed to roam the line and Newman/Henry should be just fine in coverage.

In the 4-3 the Broncos run - the suspect secondary will be a much bigger issue IMO. Also, Cutler will be mediocre at best this season as he hasn't even gotten anywhere near a full year under his belt, and IMO will not amount to much more than a career mediocre to good QB that won't win it all unless the Broncos manage to get the '00 Ravens defense.
