Actually 6, but 3 players have 9 points, so we get the idea.
I can't believe I'm going to say this, but Pop can actually get away with starting Bonner at Pf/C and giving him as much PT as he does cause the spurs have so much depth
Unbelievable
Actually 6, but 3 players have 9 points, so we get the idea.
A double-double for Blair, a win for the Spurs, getting over a hundred, and keeping the hornets below a hundred. wow.
just wow.
Wtf? After Saturday, the next time the Spurs play is Thursday?
It is so nice, you have to say it twice.
I thought he looked pretty good. I just dont think he had to take his game up a notch becuase his whole team was playing so well.
Great Game ! I just dislike the 50% FG of NO
Wow, we're deep, talented, and we're so ing ready to kick a lot of ass!!! I love this team
I think a lot of that had to do with the defense there at the end once the Spurs got a huge lead. The first-half defense was great.
And this team simply isn't going to get many blocks. Timmy can't get many blocks anymore in his older age. Ratliff is a good blocker, but he's riding the pine most of the time, so he won't get many.

DeJuan Blair came off the bench and had 14 points and 11 rebounds in his NBA regular-season debut.

In the game for the Spurs to start the fourth quarter: George Hill, Roger Mason Jr., Michael Finley, Antonio McDyess, DeJuan Blair.
THIRD QUARTER
George Hill makes a breakaway dunk in the final seconds of the fourth quarter and the Spurs lead 88-68.
Tony Parker went down at the end of the floor after making a driving basket. The Spurs took a timeout and Parker was able to walk off the floor. George Hill is going in for Parker. If the Spurs finish this quarter strong, they might be able sit their key guys for most or all of the fourth quarter. The Spurs lead 82-61 with 2:20 left in the third.
The Spurs lead 67-51 with 7:05 left in the third quarter. Timeout Spurs.
SECOND QUARTER
The Spurs lead 57-39 at halftime. The Spurs are shooting 51.2 percent, even after missing 9 of 11 to start the game. After their slow start, the Spurs were 20 of 32 from the field. The Hornets are shooting 38.1 percent.
The Spurs have gotten a scoring boost from the bench with 10 points from Manu Ginobili and nine from Antonio McDyess.

Timeout Spurs. The Hornets lead 10-4 at the first break. The Spurs are shooting 22.2 percent.
Spurs starters: Tony Parker, Michael Finley, Richard Jefferson, Matt Bonner and Tim Duncan.
George Hill update: From a Spurs news release at 4:22 p.m. today: "The San Antonio Spurs announced today that they have picked up the option for the 2010-11 season for guard George Hill." Read Mike Monroe's report.
I totally agree. With as much talent as we have why is he needed to start and play so many minutes?
Agreed that we still have a lot of room to improve, but actually our defense did pretty well, Hornets' shooting percentage went up because Spurs had fixed the game too early. It was not even a close game.
Yeah the spurs defense in the second half was kinda weak but its just the first game of the season.
Yeah but its a tough back to back Utah/Portland
Understandable, but come on, we're gonna have to wait almost a week for the next game?![]()
Watch the games dude.
Nice, he showed good things today, hope he keeps improving
Keys to the game: Rebounding. The Spurs had 42 rebounds to 33 rebounds against the Hornets. 11 offensive rebounds to 5 offensive rebounds against the Hornets. Blair had 5 offensive boards by himself.
Bench scoring: Spurs had 61 points from the bench while the Hornets had 19 points from the bench.
The 20-1 run: The defense during this stretch was fantastic, and the rest was merely a curtain call.
What a great way to start the season
Bonner does a lot of things that we don't know about. He scored 11 points in this one, but he also spreads the floor on offense, which makes it easier for everyone else to score.
Pop is a four-time championship-winner coach. I think he knows what he's doing. Bonner is in there because Pop thinks we have the best chance to win with him in there and I think I'll trust him on that.
Tony's scores weren't all that exciting, so it didn't garner much attention. Manu made some amazing moves (vintage Manu) and Blair had a dominating performance considering it's his first career regular season NBA game.
The rotation was like preseason
Nobody played more than 26 minutes
yeah cause scoring 111 shows an incredible lack of offense
Spurs dominated tonight...only blimp in the game was Popovich's ridiculous decision to start Bonner and Finley. Luckily, he wised up and put in Mcdyess and Mason, which assured a blowout by halftime. Dejuan Blair will be an All-Star within 3 years...
Very nice game, even though the Hornets sucked bad tonight (except for Paul, of course).
I'm really excited about the new season.
