That interview was a pleasant surprise

    Carter is articulate, intelligent

Friends with Dylan, knows the family, wow

That would be great for their development, would help each as rookies......

Mom is deaf? he knows sign language? wow, his empathy skills must be off the roof!

Also, good communication skills > thats why the scouting report is postulating him as defensive playmaker

Wemby will love this teammate, mark my words.........!

    Better and better!

    ----------------------------------

    PS

And then said, "i dunno" in response to the jersey number >> humility, being open to experience, great at ude

Raptors fans don’t seem happy with the CMB pick. Consensus is CMB is a good player and best defensive player in the draft, but the fit isn’t good on the Raps.

I tend to agree. I was higher on CMB than most, but the Raps fit is just strange. Barnes is almost the exact same archetype.

Thought they should have gone Maluach.

Calling my shot now, assuming they get a legit back-up C and Wemby's health: Spurs will be a top 4 seed in the West. Love their assistant coach hirings and the Harper/Bryant picks.

Lakers tbh. League/their new owners will rig some bull to get them back into contention.

at the 2:30 mark he talks about Steph, Wemby, Fox, and Barnes with no mention of the Friendship Crew! Already in love with this kid for that alone

I'm interested to see who they picked as I haven't seen the list yet. What is your take?

I fell asleep after the Spurs' second first round pick as I'd only had 1/1.5 hours sleep at that point and just couldn't stay awake any longer.

Great observation. A lot of these draftees don't mention Keldon, Devin, or any of those scrubs. They even mention Harrison Barnes (shows he has respect), but not the others. The Spurs should have already been looking to trade them, but when your new draft picks ignore them, I mean, what more does this FO need to be told about those guys before they'll really try and ship them off.

They need to look at trading at least 1 or 2 of them before the seasons starts.

They had to take a swing at #8, there was no point in drafting a low ceiling player for them.
I'd argue there were no legit star potential players left at that point.

The only really puzzling thing was Traore over Jakucionis, but there must be a reason he dropped to #20.

Nets will be the worst team in the league next season. If they guarantee all the rookie contracts they'll have 12 rookie contracts, Claxton, Cam Johnson and Mann on the books. With another SRP tonight.

They don't have their '27 FRP, they'll go all in for a top3 pick in '26 draft and get some big names in free agency next summer.

I don't think so. I think they intend to tank one more year and 5 rookies let's them do that. Also, by throwing them all in deep water they get ti find out who can swim and who can't moving forward. If 2 of them hit, then it was a good draft. If 2 hit and another guy is a solid role player it's a homerun.

I thought the Nets should have gone Maluach at 8 then they probably could have got Jaku at 19 who is the same archetype as Demin.

I didn’t mind the three picks in the 20’s you may aswell go for some swings in the 20s if you’re not contending. Wouldn’t haven’t been my choices though.

The only negative of this day is okc getting Sorber who's to me the best big in the draft and reminds me of Mark Gasol...

Wow, Carter Bryant really seems like a bright, humble hard-worker. Gotta love that.

The Spurs are getting closer to being a real basketball team. MLE and BAE options could give us some much needed bigman depth. Maybe even trade back into the 2nd round with our plethora of picks and add Fleming, Raynaud or Kalkbrenner.
I see no place for Malaki Branham on this roster.

As for the rest of last night's festivities:

    - Portland WTF? Sam Bowie, Greg Oden and now Hansen Yang. Unbelievable gamble. Being publicly and acrimoniously cursed by Jrue Holiday makes their choice all the more laughable. Maybe Clingan is gettable?

    - New Orleans WTF is their plan? Maybe a trade is coming? Maybe a train wreck is coming? Giving Atlanta next year's unprotected 1st to move up for Derik Queen is delusional. Without knowing the cap complexities, makes me wonder if there's a way to rescue TMIII from this toxic gumbo of an organization.

    - Atlanta is building something formidable in a very open Eastern Conference. They are taking a calculated risk by adding Asa Newell. Those traded picks might suck for the Spurs. They might get a top 3 pick next year. Shrewd GM-ing.

    - Sacramento didn't embarrass themselves and got a player in Clifford that will likely contribute right away.

    - OKC nabbing Sorber will give us a firsthand chance to see what we might've missed by getting Bryant, who was much higher on the Spurs Big Board.

    - Toronto over-reaching for CMB was another head-scratcher.

Nets got Drake Powell. If Atlanta gets a top pick next year then it’s ours. I’m confused by that bullet point.

I just read a comment that claims Derik Queen is close friends with Troy Weaver's (Pelicans GM) son.
Imagine owning a franchise worth billions of dollars and allowing re s with a proven track record of ruining franchise to ruin yours just as it looked like you're back on the right track.

Thanks for the correction, I was confused myself. Forgot about the BKY trade. Asa Newell is a similar calculated risk.
I was just trying to say that ATL might get a great pick from NO and that our future draft picks from them may very well suck.

KOC can't stop taking Ls, he's claiming Miami had a horrible draft because they took Jakucionis with #20.
How do these people get such a following, why would anyone listen to all the awful takes they keep spewing?

I just don't see it yet tbh. I think they still have a 6th seed ceiling as of now. If they flip Barnes into a massive upgrade along with the things you mentioned then maybe. But still too many holes on the roster IMO.

Forget expansion, just take the team away from the Pelicans and move it to Vegas tbh.

Giving up an unprotected '26 pick just to take Derrick F'n Queen is absolute insanity.

He had Jak ranked 14th on his big board. Makes no sense for him to say that.
