The third overall pick in the 1995 NBA Draft. He's a two-time All-Star with career averages of 20.1 ppg (13,390), 3.6 rpg (2,533), 3.9 apg (2,699), and 1.01 spg (735) in 694 games in his career.

He led the NBA in total points (2,380) in the 2000-01 season. In that same year, he set the Pistons franchise record for points in a season (29.8), total points, and points in a single game (57 vs. Chicago).
I thought all that mattered in Detroit was Rings? Horry's got 6 of them btw.

The spurs beat the mavs but it is just one game. Do you expect me to say hail mighty spurs? I don't think there is much difference in the teams but homecourt will be important in the playoffs.

Would be the classy thing for you to do after so many years of Spurs dominance...it really makes you look like a poor sport that you refuse to acknowledge your superiors.

I don't think there is much difference in the teams but homecourt will be important in the playoffs.
So when was the last time you guys won the division? Or beat us in the playoffs?

    Spurs>Mavs...it's just that simple.

obviously homecourt is not important. we're up 2-1 and we've only played once here. you may now reply with your excuse.

you would've been saying hail the mighty mavs if ya'll had won, and probably would've been expecting us to do the same. just stop with the excuses and except the loss

The spurs were on their game and the mavs weren't. The mavs could lose to anybody the way they were playing tonight. Stackhouse lost this game for them single handedly with his selfish decision making. Dirk had Duncan on him and Stackhouse drives into traffic. If only Stackhouse could get injured.
if I was the one saying not so good things about that Spurs and how the Mavs are good then trash Finley, maybe I'd choke right now.

    :throwupsp

but excuses are welcome. what is it this time?

I thought all that mattered in Detroit was Rings? Horry's got 6 of them btw.
All that matters in the short of it, is rings. I didn't call Jerry Stackhouse a hall-of-famer. Robert Horry has never had to be the "the man" on a team. Stackhouse hasn't been blessed with being on great teams. He was drafted by the Sixers in 1995 when they hadn't been to the playoffs since 1991. He was traded to Detroit which was a complete disaster when he came here, and was on a bad Washington team.

All I know is when the Pistons started winning, he stopped making the All-Star team (2000 and 2001). When the Pistons were getting handed every piece of hardware known (Coach of the Year Rick Carlisle, Sixth Man of the Year Corliss Williamson, Defensive Player of the Year Ben Wallace, All-NBA Ben Wallace and All-Defensive squad Ben Wallace and Cliff Robinson selections), Jerry Stackhouse's name was noticeably absent.

Winning matters a great deal in this town. He won a divisional le, the first since 1990. He won 50 games, the first time since 1997. He shot the Pistons (literally, on his field goal and foul shots in the waning seconds) into their first playoff series win since 1991.

Grant Hill played here from 1995-2000. Do the math yourself. Winning matters, and each year, the expectations increase to the point now that Championships are all that matter. But at the beginning, when the Pistons were 18 games under .500 and placing their faith in Rodney White as the future of the team, when it was Chucky Atkins, Mike Curry, and Cliff Robinson, not Chauncey Billups, Tayshaun Prince, and Rasheed Wallace, it was Jerry Stackhouse who took and made all the big shots. It was Stackhouse that demanded the most defensive attention. And at the time, he had led them to the most successful season since the Bad Boys (2001-02).

Does Devin Harris make that much difference? (This question is aimed at Mavs fans. I'd appeciate more than a one-word response).

Bowen is actually stronger than Dirk so I guess that is why Bowen can bully Dirk away from the post if the refs allow it.

That was a satisfying win, especially with everyone riding the Mavs' jock lately. , the front page of the ESPN NBA page today labelled them the "Best Team in Basketball." I hope they enjoyed getting pwned by the champs, because I sure as enjoyed it.

Well I'm not supposed to make excuses but yes Devin Harris does. Some people think he should be starting over Terry. He is a better defender, better slasher, and is the quickest player on the court. Terry is still better but Harris matches up better against a player like Parker and can really exploit Van Exel's defense as well.

Lmao at Barkley saying the mavs don't always play like this and the spurs do. He has a new excuse everytime the mavs play well. Actually the mavs were missing a lot of shots that they can make. Dirk was rushing and too pumped up that it hurt his offense.
well isn't this a very fine example of the pot calling the kettle black.

I was laughing so hard at the first past, I didn't even get to the second.

Dirk doesn't go to the post. Period. He wouldn't go there if we rolled out a red carpet for him. The guys shoots 20 foot fadeaways behind Tony Parker for chrissakes.

He was the main culprit behind their lone win against the Spurs. Guys like him and that Ellis kid with Golden State always cause the Spur D some problems. But Pop and the Spurs were ready for Harris the second time around.

Especially in the second half, I saw a lot of standing around as Dirk worked between the circles on Bowen. That's an awful lot of standing around. Does he initiate the ball movement, push the ball in transition, pressure the ball-handler, all the things a good point guard is supposed to do?

Yep that is what Harris does and Terry doesn't. Harris is a pure point guard while Terry is a shooting point guard. I would actually prefer Terry at the 2 guarding Bowen and Harris guarding Parker.
