I think Godfather II is the better film, but I enjoy The Godfather more. If the first film had the flashback sequences with DeNiro, it'd be no contest.

Michael Corleone is one of the most hardcore characters ever put on film. That crazy guinea killed his ing brother. You can't get more hardcore than that.
