Thats good. Roll with Kawhi one more year. Pops last season and encore coaching performance. After this season Kawhi walks and we trade LA for a future 1st rounder to a contending team that was an Aldridge short of greatness.
$9 million for Rondo is just cringeworthy.

How many PGs is that for L.A? Ball, Rondo, and who else?
pelinka swinging his around with these 1 year contracts. spurs are boxed into a corner tbh
What a weird ing team
only if they throw in a top 55 protected 2nd
Spurs were going to lose out in any situation. There is no equal value for a superstar of Kawhi's caliber. Ingram,Randle and whatever crap the Lakers were offering would have gotten the Spurs .25 cents on the dollar at best. Spurs are just better off ing Kawhi over for a year and not rewarding his antics.
Run if magic starts swinging his tbh
Counting the deals for KCP, McGee, and Stephenson puts them at about $13.5 million in capspace assuming they only want to trade Ingram, which is a little less than $3 million short of what they'd need to trade for Kawhi. Problem is if the Spurs take back their young guys making $1.5 to $1.7 million a year each the Lakers get hit with am $840k cap hold for each one, meaning each young player they trade only nets them $660k to $860k in cap space.
A Kawhi deal was much more in play with Randle on the books since LA could use their Bird Rights to sign Randle and trade him for Leonard. That alone would have easily made matching salary (eg 1/1.25 of Leonard's money).
the ones verbally agreeing can not be traded for 3 months right?
Quality
Up to Pop if he wants to provide daily updates to Kawhi's family on how awesome they are.
What kind of team are they building? Im not kidding live on tv they told this windhorst and he kept facepalming and disgusted
Ingram is 6'11. Reportedly grew 2 inches last yr.
Why? Spurs were never trading Leonard to the lackers.
Danny grew 2 inches during his career too. its why we call him LDN
Hmmm, could this end up like the year the Lakers brought in Payton and and Karl Malone in 2004?
they're sending the clear message that they're preserving a max slot for next offseason
At this point might as well keep Kawhi till the NBA trade deadline. He is at least is capable of guarding that LeBron guy, lol.
Pop is so stubborn. Lakers probably have Ingram off the table now since they signed LeBron, I could see him working well with LeBron and crew.
yeah except instead of washed up malone and payton they got lebron james coming off a monster season/postseason
So they have 3 PGs right? Thomas, Ball, and Rondo?
Pop will make him a star.
