Awsome news!
As far as rest is concerned... Except for Erazem and Jaka I don't think fatigue is too big of a problem for the others.
More important is that we don't get any new injuries because if any more of our guards get injured we can almost start packing.
Lets all hope we'll come to the final.![]()

Good News, Bad News: Day Seven
15 September 2009
By Yarone Arbel
The second day of the games in Group F in Lodz presented some very disturbing shooting performances.
Yet Slovenia, Turkey and Spain still earned good words for their ability to step up in key times.
The Good News
Keeping the ball
Only one team in the compe ion averaged less than ten turnovers per game so far - Slovenia. In the win over Poland it came into full effect as they wrote their tournament low with only six. Actually half of them came in a span of one minute, which makes it even more amazing: Just three turnovers in 39 minutes, including a run of 18 full minutes without turning the ball over once.
Jaka in the run
Jaka Lakovic's performance so far makes him a worthy runner for the MVP award of the tournament. Considering he's shooting in only 28.6% inside the arc it might be unclear why he's in the race, but in any other aspect Lakovic is on fire. He has hit 18 three-pointers at a 51.4% clip and actually had 14 more baskets from distance than from two-point range and the same amount from the free throw line where he is shooting 85.7%. Add 4.2 assists per game and a 2.1 assists/turnovers ratio to his team's performance so far and that spot in the MVP run is crystal clear.

Good to see Jaka is determined to make his pre-tournament bashers look like idiots! But hey... we take it!!!
Also, Zdovc and the whole coach/support team seems to be doing an amazing job!
All our players living up to their best possible potential (maybe with the exception of Domen Lorbek) can't be a coincidence !
p.s.
Sashenka!
Stats: 1-10 - That was Omar Asik's free-throw performance against Serbia, the biggest reason why Turkey were only 18 of 31 from the charity stripe. The center has made only five of 24 attempts from the foul line so far in the tournament.
Hack-an-Omar? :P
Kind of sad we can't afford any of our players get into foul trouble or they might be forced to recruit some fans from the stands to fill in!
p.s.
They guy is shooting 71,8% from the field... smack the out of him!![]()
We have Golemac. He is bad in defense - now he may foul Omar.
Perfect Turkey Face Slovenia
16 September 2009
By Simon Wilkinson
Turkey will put their perfect mark (4-0) on the line when they face their closest challengers Slovenia (3-1) in the final game of EuroBasket 2009 Qualifying Round on Wednesday.
A win for Bogdan Tanjevic's men will see them top Group F while a loss would drop them into second place behind Slovenia, based on the head-to head.
A defeat for Jure Zdovc's side could spell trouble as they could finish second or third, depending on the results from the day's earlier games (Lithuania v Serbia and Poland v Spain).

Well Serbia is about to win, so we have secured one of the 1st two places already. So now if we win against Turkey we play Croatia in QF, and if we lose we play Greece.
Ilyasova: 'We Believe We Can Win'
16 September 2009
By Simon Wilkinson
It's been a while since Turkey last had something to smile about at the EuroBasket, but as they prepare to face Slovenia on Wednesday in the last game of the Qualifying Round, they are safe in the knowledge that they will be returning to the knockout stages for the first time in eight years.
...
Despite the fact that, as hosts, Turkey have an automatic berth for the World Championships, the Milwaukee Bucks forward isn't satisfied in seeing his team just round up the numbers for the knockout stages in Poland.
"We have done a very good job to come here and win our first five games but our job isn't done," he warned. "Now we have to focus on the game against Slovenia to determine who finishes first in the group. It won't be easy because they have a lot of good outside shooters. But if we play good pick and roll defense we should be fine and have a chance to win the game and it would be a great way to get into the next round."

No Yao plays for China.
I don't really know which I'd like more. Maybe almost better we play Greece. Also so we can have revenge for the previous time hehe.
Awesome!
Onward we go!
