Yeah it truly sucked .Nope. I just have to live with taking an antibiotic forever. Have it cut back to every other day. Kept trying to reduce it. Went to once a week and it blew up on me.

Well I had no idea concerning the rarity. Luck for the casual fisherman.
Oh and I caught it on a grasshopper. Bait was allowed. It was very tangled in there so I could not possibly have caught the fish with a fly as I really suck at it.
We were chasing grasshoppers around and testing our hand quickness like when I was a kid.
Oh after I caught it an old man who was camping there brought out his big glass jar and a hand net. I had no idea he was watching us.
Oh I totally abused my knees for years but had a blast doing it. Long distance running, played rugby, slalom water skied ( could run a course at 5 off at 30mph) snow skiing hammering steep mogul runs for years etc. Stupidest thing I did was try snow boarding in its infancy at Big Sky. They did it "European style" and you did it with ski boots instead of soft boot. There went one ACL LOL. Paid the price for all the fun but would do it all again. You learn to live with pain. No biggie.

Speaking of Big Sky, you should put that on your bucket list. Take a day off from skiing and go snowmobile in Yellowstone. Freaking amazing.
LOL no kidding! Traditional after party's were epic, though. Also raced motocross for awhile. Had an RM370. Scary bike.Had to give that up after I blew up my right rotator cuff coming off a long jump and hitting a big rut. Punched my locked right arm straight through it. Still have a piece of the rotator cuff the size of a golf ball floating around in there.
You ever go to the Beartooths when you're around Yellowstone? Unbelievable hiking and the crowds are all in Yellowstone so you feel like you have the place to yourself a lot of the time out there. Have heard the snowmobiling around Cooke City is supposed to be outstanding too.

Goddam. I had a nephew get a staph after tubing in the Guadalupe, was in the hospital for a month and his leg looked like death. I thought he was 100% over it but now I'm gonna ask him.
CC has bacteria growing on the surface of his prosthesis. With no blood supply, antibiotics can't get to the bacteria. That's why he has to keep taking antibiotics and the infection spreads when he stops. Normally they pull out all the hardware and put in an antibiotic spacer which stays in until the infection is completely cleared (weeks to months). Then replace the hardware.
Did that twice. Still couldn't get rid of it.

Damn sorry man, that's a nightmare scenario for joint replacement. I'd still suggest a consultation with the link I gave you but honestly you might be at the point where no surgeon will want to go in again.

Yeah thanks but have A+ surgeons and infectious disease docs. Just I have to deal with. No biggie. Still hiking, fishing, loving life. Pain is just normal. Not stopping me from doing cool stuff.

We wanted to go for Memorial Day, but the HWY 120 corridor was closed off and the only other way around would add another 2-3 hours for a trip that's normally 2.5 hours, tops.Also since you're there, have you taken a road trip to Yosemite this year? The Mist Trail must be nuts right now with how much snowpack the Sierras got last winter. First time I hiked it in spring 2006 after another heavy snow year I must have had wood half the hike from passing so many hot women in wet white T-shirts from how much the Merced River was roaring over the falls.
BUT, that overall, this June has been AMAZING. Our average high thus far is 81! We had a high of 77 yesterday and averaged low to mid 80s most of the month. It's definitely been the coolest start to a summer here for the 14 summers I've been here.
Driving to Reno this weekend, so excited to see how much snow is still up in the Mountains. When we went in April of last year, there was still snow on the ground levels at about 2,000 ft elevation and we were able to go snowing (sledding, tubing- a snow day) in mid-May last year without going maybe 45 minutes from home, so I'm really excited to see what we'll be able to do this year. Got my snow bib and boots ready as I already know I'm gonna choke a wad in losses in Nevada.
Sadly, won't be driving that way when we go to Vegas in mid-July for the Summer League, we have to go thru SoCal, but super excited to feel the High desert kicking up at night.
While I can't stand the politics and the re ed California trash (and yes, these people are ING DUMB...talking to an average Californian is like attending a PTO/PTA meeting at Alamo Heights and speaking with the absentee parents who attend due to custody or reputation purposes and they don't jack about what's going on) the weather and diverse landscape still make it a more appealing place to live than back home.
We're actually having a really amazing start to the summer despite that aforementioned heat wave.
We're averaging low to mid 80s as our high. Yesterday our high was 77 and we got down to 51 at night. When the breeze kicks in, it's gorgeous.
We bought a cabin in Alma, about 15 minutes from Brackenridge last year. Going there for the first time in August to escape the Texas heat. Looking forward to seeing the wildlife and mild days.

We're having an extended high pressure ridge that flared up a week ago, took us to 105 yesterday, probably takes us there again today, 104 tomorrow before the heat dome moves a little west for Thursday and Friday that might drop us to 100. Then the er is supposed to come right back and intensify again Friday and stick around until at least early July with straight 102-103 forecast the whole time. Basically looking a lot like what June looked like here last year, though we won't have a record setting 18 days over 100 this June like we did last. Probably only have 15 this June. But with higher humidity. ing dewpoint is 76 right now and heat index is already 111 as of 1:15. Typical year in the last 20 years though is 18 days of 100+ the entire year, so this will almost surely be another way above average summer.
No way a 5 year old is making it up all the way.
Crap, missed the part about August. Yosemite waterfalls usually suck in August. They'll be better this August than most Augusts but I still wouldn't have high hopes for them then.
