Holy Cow- I love Hedo!
26 points ( 9 of 16 from the field; 1 of 3 from 3 point range; 7 of 7 from the line) 6 rebounds, an assist and a blocked shot.
My hero.![]()
Whoosh- Sho!
11 points ( 5 of 7 from the field; 1 of 2 from free throw) and 4 rebounds.
The Man.
I love him the best.![]()
Why doesn't Slokar play more? He's got a decent little jumper, and looks comfortable around the basket.
I'd give him all of Humphries minutes, and some of Rasho's.
You ought to know better than to come in here and talk about giving away Sho's minutes- even if it is to Slokar who I think is awesome.![]()
Sorry dear...what was I thinking...![]()
It's all right... you are probably dizzy from watching Nazr pump fake all night.![]()

Damn, I want to get playoff tickets ; I guess I'm gonna have to fight thru Ticketmaster...
Probably for the 2nd round .... how does it work ; let's say Toronto has just elminated Washington ; can I purchase tickets for the 2nd round right after the game? or I'll have to wait the next day???
Considering who the Raptors suited up, I was actually pretty happy with tonight's game. They only had 10 guys total and 2 starters. The makeshift starting line-up that included someone who was in the NBDL 6 weeks ago held their own in the first quarter against the Detroit starters and again in the third.
On a side note, Nazr was just plain awful- even against the Raptor scrubs who never play. Nazr played 12 minutes and had 3 fouls, 1 rebound, and shot 1-6.
Rasho had a nice little game there tonight. Anyone who talks about taking away Rasho's minutes has not watched much Raptors play this season.
So, the first round opponent is decided tomorrow. If Washington can beat Indiana and the Bulls beats the Nets- it is Washington.
I think they have an assigned ticket release day for each round. But I haven't bought tickets in awhile.

Usually they go on sale the next day. There should still be a chance to get tickets for Game 5- I think they have only sold games 1 & 2, but I doubt there will be a first round sweep.
Tks a lot guys
I'm still wondering....do I get tix for round 2 or.......the Finals ? (it won't be both, I'm not that rich)
Man, if they make the Finals... I'll drive presto from Montreal to Toronto with a Spurs jersey .... wow the Finals in Canada..with the Spurs
And I will be going to a game in Canada.![]()
Slokar's not a C, he's a PF. He's not strong enough to play C. He was stuck behind Bosh, Bargnani and Garbajosa all season, and with the team needing wins at the end, coach probably didn't wan't to risk putting a new player into rotation.
He has some nice skills, not just the jumper - he can play with his back to the basket too and his rebounding is pretty good. He's also smart, learns quick and is a good character. He lacks strength and athleticism though. Unfortunatelly being a poor man's Bargnani doesn't cut it when the team has the real one.
On the plus side: Slokar is a FA after this season. That's why i was happy he was signed this year - with Bosh and Bargnani on the team, he could be stuck in Europe for ages with Toronto sitting on his rights. This way at least he got some experience and a chance to showoff some of his talent and now he can sign with any team.
I liked that fact, too, that Toronto chose to gve him his shot and then he is a FA to sign with anyone (cough**unlike the Spurs**cough).
Pistons 100, Raptors 84:
For almost everyone, the game in Auburn Hills, Mich., was nothing more than a glorified exhibition. For Raptors rookie Uros Slokar, though, it was the chance of a lifetime.
With both teams tuning up for the playoffs, the little-used Slovenian, who had 20 career points in 19 games, scored 18 points in 30 minutes.
"I've been waiting all year for a chance like this," he said. "For me, every game might be my last, so I have to prove to someone that I can play. That went pretty well tonight."
Slokar
Sorry, but I think it is much more likely that I will be in Dallas in June to see the Raptors play in the NBA Finals.![]()

Well I don't think so
However if (big if) Raps and Mavs meet in the Finals, I'll got to TO with a Raps jersey ; I'll do everything to disturb Dallas and that includes having a big party at their hotel.
And people will realize that Andrea > Dirk
Raptors Raise BannerTORONTO) -- It’s a modest enough banner, a patch of cloth hanging in the corner of Air Canada Centre but to players, management and fans, it might as well be dipped in gold.
The franchise’s first ever division le banner was unveiled Wednesday as a cloth cornerstone for the future. It is as visible a talisman as any to demonstrate that the Raptors are ready to ascend to the league elite.
“You look where we are and a lot of people who doubted us they just have to look at that banner,” said veteran Raptor Morris Peterson, the only player around when the team last appeared in the post-season.
“A lot of people who said we’d never get as far as we are now, they will have to look at that banner and they’ll have to think about that every time.”
“Toronto has always had great fans throughout our franchise history,” Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. CEO Richard Peddie. “Thanks to a total team effort by Bryan Colangelo, Wayne Embry, Sam Mitc , the players and all the employees that make up Team Raptors we now have a way to say thanks to those fans for sticking with us.”
It was a simple thank-you, delivered, fittingly on fan appreciation night. “As a token of our appreciation for you coming out tonight,” Raptors star Chris Bosh told a darkened arena, “we want to show you something,” and pointed to the rafters.
A couple of fireworks later, a banner bearing the words Atlantic Division Champions was unfurled amidst rapturous applause.
“When you look at building a history, in the word history is the word story,” said president and GM Bryan Colangelo. “We’ve got a story that’s writing itself right now. You want to put up reminders of successes along the way. There’s been a lot of exciting basketball played here, but given the rebirth of the franchise and where we are today, we felt it was fitting to begin a new story and put the first of what we hope will be many banners up.”
“The players should be proud,” said coach Sam Mitc . ”Obviously, we want to advance (in the playoffs) but you have to start building a winning tradition somewhere and to be the first team to win a divisional le, I think it means a lot.” Peterson, a seven-year-Raptor veteran, said the banner would be an inspiration.
“That’s going to push us even harder. We put one banner up even though people didn’t believe we could. We can put more banners up in front of people who didn’t believe in us.”
