2017 QB Kellen Mond of San Antonio Reagan talks about his spring game visit (24/7):
“Coach (Shawn) Watson did a good job calling plays for them,” Mond said. “He used their strengths to help them succeed. I liked the tempo of the offense. It was a lot faster. They used a lot of sprint and rollouts. I think it would be a good fit for me.”
“We just talked for a little bit,” Mond said. “It wasn’t long, but he just said they were interested in me. He said that they would be down to watch me this spring. Coach (Vance) Bedford recruits my area and will be down to see me, too.”
“My interest in Texas is really high,” Mond said. “After getting to see everything in person, it’s even higher. It was a great experience, and I loved the atmosphere.”

"I got to talk to a lot of the coaches, mostly coach (Brick) Haley, coach (Charlie) strong and coach BJ (Brian Jean-Mary)," Williams said. "When I talk to coach Strong, he mostly talks about his philosophy and what he believes as a person. Then he answered some of my questions. They really made me feel important and just told me to have fun."
"They're going to have strong defenses for the future. If you put the right players in coach Bedford and coach Strong's hands, they're going to make something out of you," Williams said. "The coaches were all saying they put their heart and soul into it. That's important to me."
"They made a good impression. I liked it. I liked the visit as a whole. They'll be up there at the top of the list. There's no number one because I don't have one, but they'd be up there."
"I'll probably try to do that after spring, maybe in the summer time. I'll just keep narrowing it down from there," Williams said. "I'm not going to release a top 10 or anything, but I'll just do it to myself and go from there."

FYI Inside Texas said earlier this week there's a strong chance TE Devonaire Clarington will not qualify for UT.
Scout commented on the report afterwards and said that's accurate.

TE Peyton Aucoin of New Orleans, LA talks about his unofficial visit to Texas (24/7):
“I really liked it,” Aucoin said. “The facilities were extremely nice. They are some of the best I’ve seen. I enjoyed getting to learn more about the academics as well. I think this visit definitely helped Texas. I believe they are one of my favorite schools.”
“It was great to get to sit down with Coach Strong,” Aucoin said. “He talked about the principles of the program and what he expects out of his players and everyone involved with the team. He told me all about the ground rules, and I was really impressed."
“Coach Strong told me that he really liked my style of play and that he thought I was a good person. I definitely like his style because that’s how my high school coach is. I would like to play for someone like that.”
