Game Summary

Turning point: With Turkey down by two in the closing seconds, Ender Arslan drove to the basket and decided to pass off - when he had an open lay-up - to Engin Atsur, who went for the win instead of a tie with a three-point attempt from the corner, which he missed.

Hero: With Bostjan Nachbar plagued by foul trouble, Goran Jagodnik came off the bench and hit some timely baskets in the last two quarters to hold off Turkey's furious charge.

Stats: Slovenia made 13 of 31 three-point attempts while Turkey were just 5 of 20.

Don't expect anything. Croats will play dirty (they will call it hard). There will be a lot of small or not so small contact. If refs will allow that kind of crap our team is on the road to . Our shortened rotation will get in all kinds of trouble. I just hope that refs will reward skills over brute force, dirty fouls and butchering. In that case we are safe.

Well because we had Dragic back then, now we don't. And if I remember right he was one of the main players in that game.
We can't do much with just one PG. It's difficult against a team that doesn't have that good PGs, but all our next opponents have them.

Our players play with a ton of balls... tough, determined and like a REAL TEAM.

So why the should the fans be afraid and moan like pussies before a game against an obviously worse opponent like Croatia.

True that anything is possible, true that we have many injuries, true that the game is beyond CRUCIAL.

But will anyone really blame our guys if they loose? I won't. They are m****m****** warriors the last 2 weeks and respect to them for that.

I was really unhappy with news, that Zdovc is our new coach back than. I was really mad with the way Zdovc knocked Vujačič out od a team - but, I have to eat my crow

Zdovc is by far best coach our NT ever had. He and his stuff prepares good for the games, changes are on time, time-out are called when needed, no player is forgoten on the bench. He is our main advantage against Croatia - he leads the team flawless.

If players will be able (will Nachbar play at all?) to execute his ideas, we will win Croatia. Believe!

I think that 100% of fans probably need to eat crow regarding Zdovc. And probably somewhere around 80% regarding Lakovič... :P

This team is reaching 100% of their potential. Without injuries we would be by far the biggest favourites for gold medal right now.

And one more thing, we have the best coaching staff ever. I don't mean just Zdovc, whole gang around him was carefully selected. For the first time NT coaching staff is assembled out of the specialists for different aspects of the game. I'm confident.

I personally thought we were doomed 1 month ago because of our captain "Zdovc" and our on floor captian Lakovič. Even if we had Smodiš&Lorbek frontcourt at that time.

I was never more glad in my life to be completely wrong



As for Jaka and tonight... If he has a bad game, can you really blame him?

I won't... He is playing 35,2 minutes a game. HE IS THE LEADER AMONG ALL PLAYERS IN THIS STATISTIC!
