2016 WR Devin Duvernay of Sachse was unable to reach the coaches last night, but says he will try again today (24/7):

“My coach told me that the Texas coaches reached out to him and told him that they wanted me to call them,” said Duvernay. “When I tried to they were in meetings, so I’m going to call back on Tuesday to find out what’s up.”

“I really like the program,” he told Horns247. “They’re a team that I grew up watching. I actually went to the Texas-Kansas game last season and it was a good experience. I enjoyed my time there and it really helped them."

“An offer from Texas would add a lot more to the recruiting process,” Duvernay added. “It would be a serious option. I don’t have any favorites or anything and I’m just taking it all in since it’s so early, but it would be something to really consider.”

Update on 2016 WR Reggie Hemphill of Manvel (24/7):

“I talk to them (Texas coaches) quite a bit now,” said Hemphill. “They want me to come to the spring game this weekend, so I’m most likely going to it. That’s my only visit I have set up now, but I’m looking forward to seeing how they do under this new staff.”

“I don’t even really have any favorites anymore,” Hemphill told Horns247. “I’m going to take it slow for now on. I want to be thorough with the process and make sure that whatever decision I do make is the right one for me. I’d rather not go through the de-commitment process again if I don’t have to, so I just want to be sure."

“It won’t be forever until I make my decision though,” he added. “I want to do it somewhere between the middle to the end of my junior season.”

QB Ryan Agnew of Southlake Carroll says he will be at the spring game on Saturday (24/7):

“I’m going down there and I just want to see how they use the quarterback in the passing game,” Agnew said. “I’d like to see how exactly they stretch the field and use their athletic receivers. That’s going to be the most important thing for me.”

“For the most part Coach (Shawn) Watson writes me hand written letters telling me they like my game,” said Agnew. “We still haven’t talked about an offer yet, but we will see what happens. Texas is a school I think a lot of and an offer from them would affect my recruitment in a big way.”

I wanted to cry for the guy out of pitty. But I was laughing so hard I was crying. He needs to change his name and leave everyone he knows, just start a whole new life where people won't mock him for not knowing how to say Achilles.

Update on QB Zach Gentry of Albuquerque, NM who should be in Austin tomorrow (Rivals):

"Tennessee, Oklahoma State, Texas and Alabama," Gentry said.

"I don't know a whole lot about Texas other than it's the same staff that offered me a Louisville. They were, like, my third offer. They've been in contact the whole time. I mean, I know them so well. I pretty much have a full year under my belt of knowing them compared to all of these other schools."

"I think I am going to try to make a decision the last week of May or in early June,"
Gentry said. "I should be able to do that easily."

when I was a kid (70s) I have no idea how many bowl games there were but I remember almost all of them were on new years day. I tried to watch every one of them. Today I'll watch Texas and a few other games but I couldn't care less for about 35 of those games.

More evidence that the bowl system is a watered-down joke, tbh....

24/7 reporting S Johnny Shaw does not currently have an offer from the new staff.

Like CB Jalen Campbell, he'll have to attend the summer camp for an evaluation.

Interesting. I've been a HUGE Campbell fan since the Rivals camp last summer, but I'm all for him have to re-earn his offer. Same goes for Shaw. IIRC a poster on OB (who are well connected in the Golden Triangle) said that West Orange-Stark always has been known for speed, and Shaw is the fastest they have. Speed combined with his big hit ability made him an interesting player. But as I said, I'm all for them have to re-earn a scholarship.

I have no idea why English hasn't been told the same? I get that Chambers is his god-father and he looks like a great player trapped in a terrible body. But still? Not many weeks ago he said something about him being committed to Texas but that he was looking around. He would visit Oregon in the near future. He acts like he has all kinds of offers. Texas is his lone offer.

@HornsIllus: Coach Strong said "all of our recruits will be here on Satuday," including Jerrod Heard. #hookem

Sounds like the 2014 commits will be on hand to help recruit the 2015 class.

    Quick quote from 24/7.
"This Saturday I'm flying out for the Texas Spring Game and then flying back later that day
", said the 6-foot, 185-pounder. "I'm looking forward to talking to Charlie Strong and seeing what he has to say about their program."

I don't know who originally reported, but 2016 WR Devin Duvernay did call the UT coaches yesterday and an offer was not extended.

He did say he thinks he could receive one this weekend while at the spring game.

-24/7 saying future five-star, 2016 OL Greg Little of Allen, will be in town on Saturday.
A few minutes ago Little debuted as the number one player in the entire '16 class for 24/7. The full 2016 rankings aren't up yet, but I'll post the rankings for the guys that Texas is after. In the article on 24/7 about him being the number one player, Little came with this quote regarding Texas:

"I didn't watch a ton of college football growing up, to be honest," he said. "When I did watch it, I was a big Texas Longhorns fan. I liked watching Vince Young and Colt McCoy in those days. Once those guys were gone, I stopped watching though."

EDIT: He also said, that right now, all schools are even. He has NO favorites.
