u are making up a scenario for LMA that simply isnt true...the guy struggled every year in the playoffs since coming...in the first year without duncan, and kawhi's real first year as as the go to guy, he had his worst season...we all watched the games...the guy was being used the same as he is now...he just was taking less shots per game than in portland...it's not as if he went to pop and said "im not being used properly...you are making me a three point shooter when im a post up guy...he said he wants more touches...

Kawhi wronged the team for whatever reason.
That's the reason he was let go I think, there weren't any Pop kawhi conversation to try to convince him to stay.
Pop was very clear "he choose", he choose not to be with the team on a time in need, he choose not to be there in Tony and Manu's last year, not to be with the team once Pop wife passed. That's the character Pop is talking about, he is a character guy, a strong character guy, a diva.
He probably wanted someone fired for some beef and the Spurs said no, and he couldn't handle it.
Pop appreciates the guy, just don't want those characters here.

I'm referring to the oft-hinted-at notion from timvp and Kori that Kawhi had a semi-legit beef with someone in the organization due to comment that person made. That beef was apparently so big that Kawhi told his teammates in the player's only meeting that he wouldn't give his all for the organization anymore. Had it been Pop he had issues with, it would have been easy to understand what happened. But if Leonard and Pop are close, then it really raises the question of who could more solidly define the Spurs organization than Pop and cancel out the good will between coach and player?

What was great about the big 1st qtr lead was that Spurs were able to hold it to the end, even if just swapping baskets, and losing 2 qtrs.

Only idiots watch stats instead of games... The first playoffs the guy fell off a cliff after a great first couple games VS OKC... that's choking... If we consider harden choking because of his play in one game in a series, we have to say the same for LMA who choked in several games in that series...
