oh, it's not the accepting i'm having trouble with. first of all, back when I brought it up in our earlier spat, I said it because I normally have verbal spats with writers. The singer in my metal band was a writer. he was a loud mouthed know it all and I couldn't stand it. I still can't get over the fact what midge said about The Police. I'm in no ways offended, but.............

American pop singles have been remade my Reggae artists since the early 60's. A lot of the Rocksteady artists were highly influenced by early R&B artists. The Paragons made it big in Jamaica with their cover of "The Tide is High".
well i'm sure the general public didn't here them til they actually released something which was in 1980. for all i know the first gig could've been in a basement. Outlandos d'amour came out in 78
But The Police didn't strictly play Reggae music.
that's great, but The Police incorporated the reggae element in about 90% of their songs using the main element of reggae.

it's not what i feel it is, it's what makes reggae, reggae. it's very unclimatic, but if it didn't have this one element reggae would not be reggae. i think i'll keep y'all in suspense a bit more. i said i would be in bed by 10pm.

i'll give you a hint. listen to reggae and start taking away different elements one by one. some you can do without, but one must be there to make it reggae. It would be normal Western, the region not the genre, music. Come on, Midge. You should know this. I feel the force is strong with you. Do or do not. There is no try.
