Good for Ian.
That's a situation where he can probably get minutes, no Shaq, no Ilgauskas. Hickson and Varajao and old busted Jamison.
Ian will have better years than Bonner.
here is a question
hill for rudy
both make little money

No. Hill has the ability to play the point, is more athletic and has higher potential.
If the Spurs go after Rudy it should be with a low offer, like non-guaranteed contracts and a pick in return.
I really hope this isn't true. Ilgauskas is one of those few guys who has spent his whole NBA career with one team. I'd hate to see a guy who will get his jersey retired in Cleveland tarnish his reputation with the fans by trying to ride James' coattails in Miami.
On the one hand there's that perspective. On the other, you're basically saying Big Z shouldn't live an athlete's dream of getting a championship.
Dude worked his ass off for a long time, and he was in Cleveland long before James came along. BTW, it's not LBJ's coattails he's riding.
Somewhere Dwight Howard is giggling while rubbing his hands together!
Which means the Spurs should've shipped his ass to Chicago last year, in exchange for a real shotblocking PF, Tyrus Thomas.
They could've at least executed a sign-n-trade to a perennially bad team. That way Bonner wouldn't have to worry about actually showing up in the playoffs.
Ian Mahinmi.
@ Fish, Juwaun Howard, Ime Udoka supporting cast
Fish and Howard actually looked good last season (logging several games as starters). That's actually a pretty nice start to a bench - and they're just getting started.
As for Udoka, I've got nothing.![]()
Juwan Howard would be a good guy to have on that team, a good guy to get a ring for. He's put in a lot of years in the league and never even really been close..... Wish my boy C-Webb could come out of retirement and player for that team and get his.
The Knicks last night were on the verge of signing 7-foot-1 Russian free-agent center Timofey Mozgov, according to a source. The anticipated three-year, $9 million deal would eat up the rest of their cap space.

I know this is all just conjecture (except Portland's absurdly loaded swingman ranks... wtf?), but if we can get our hands on Rudy, DO IT NOW! He would be fantastic here. Manu and Pop could turn him into Manu II, I am sure of it.
GET RUDY HERE NOW!
PS There is no Kevin Pritchard stopping us from 'trading with' (read as 'ripping off') the Blazers any more either...![]()
^^ Mozgov is a good signing for Knicks. He is very big, strong, athletic and could be a good defensive presence. I still can't believe Nets went with Petro for the same amount of money.
So if the Cavs story about Childress is true, that is another team out of the running for RJ.People want Petro but not RJ.
It's stupid to waste time going after a player that has set plans on returning to his previous team.
Ben Wallace set to sign 2-year deal with Pistons
DETROIT (AP)—Ben Wallace(notes) says he’ll sign a two-year contract soon with the Detroit Pistons.
Wallace told The Associated Press on Sunday he heard from a lot of teams, but agreed to a two-year deal about a week ago because he wants to retire with the Pistons. He’ll make $1.9 million each season.
Pistons president Joe Dumars said on the first day of free agency that the team’s first order of business was to keep Wallace and restricted free agent Will Bynum(notes).
The 35-year-old Wallace was one of Detroit’s best players last season when it missed the playoffs for the first time since 2001.
The center helped the Pistons win the 2004 le during his prime when he was the Defensive Player of the Year four times in five years.

humm wallace could have signed that deal with the heat
enough is enough detroit.
Detroit had a lot of problems last year, but Wallace wasn't one of them. He was actually one of their few bright spots (nearly shooting a career high percentage-wise, playing solid defense, and starting 67 games). He brings veteran leadership and is getting paid just above the minimum. I can't really argue with them bringing him back, especially considering everything that he has done for that organization.
look in a different direction. that organization has gone from great to the gutter.
The Grizzlies are close to agreeing on a contract with Boston Celtics free agent swingman Tony Allen, The Commercial Appeal has learned.
Allen, 28, is an unrestricted free agent and the Griz are hoping to sign him to a multiyear deal starting at roughly $3 million.
The defensive-minded player just completed his sixth season with the Celtics, who selected the 6-4 Allen with the 25th pick in the 2004 NBA draft.
Signing Allen would mean Memphis would completely severe ties with Ronnie Brewer, who it acquired from Utah for a protected 2011 first-round pick in February. Brewer wasn't extended a $3.7 million qualifying offer and became an unrestricted free agent.
Brewer apparently wasn't willing to commit to the Grizzlies' latest offer because of pending negotiations with Chicago and Utah.
The Griz decided on Allen because of the defense and toughness he could bring to the backcourt off the bench. Memphis is also said to like Allen's leadership qualities and championship at ude given he's played for the le-contending Celtics.

Haha so not only did Memphis gift Gasol to the Lakers, now they're trying to take away Boston's best defender against Kobe![]()
