Arbitrage - 2012
4/10
Richard Gere was OK, but as a whole, a hokey and tedious mess.
Raiders of the Lost Ark
10/10 all these years later, and it still delivers on the big screen.

Really hit me hard. I lost my good buddy who was more like my brother in the streets of L.A. and I know those streets very, very well. Ray died in his prime at 32 years old. We had a lot of plans including writing screenplays ...when he got his 21 gun salute I was pretty proud and pretty pissed off. The early 90's came flooding back to me just by watching this movie.
A little embellishment but , for hollywood, actually pretty realistic. Most officers won't see this much action in a lifetime-but it would be a boring movie if hollywood actually stuck to complete reality.
South Central is pretty active, but so is Rampart and parts of the SF Valley for that matter. Now with asian gangs, latino,black,viets,etc.... all over so cali...it can get pretty eventful.
Funny how they make those thugs seem all hard core...but I see a different side. Biggest pussies in the entire world once they are all alone.
That mano- a -mano fight inside the guys house would never happen...good for hollywood entertainment but so much could go wrong that no officer in his right mind would ever do that-and no partner in his right mind would let him. Least of all because they hadn't even searched that house yet...
A lot of inaccuracies but a lot of good things in the movie.
Two thumbs way up.
I hope young people don't decide to become cops due to any glamorizing hollywood does of the cop life....and I sincerely hope no young officers take these movies to heart and try to identify with these actors doing a role- a job. A safe protected job. It is easy to portray a hero when you know that you aren't really in harm's way. I would have liked to see a little more fear and anxiety in the characters...but oh well.
Down By Law - It was good. Reminded me of Dead Man, which makes sense.
I don't know about cops, but I'm pretty sure no one wants to become a prison guard![]()
I watched a ty western called Yellow Rock. 1/10. On the cover, it hand one of those wreaths that said "something Award Winner". You used to be able to trust those wreaths as they signified winning some independent award like Cannes or Sundance. But now they're just throwing them on there for pretty dinky .
The Master 7.8/10
I'm one of the biggest Paul Thomas Anderson fans out there since before it became cool to like him, but this film wasn't as great as I thought it would be, although I did like it. No question about it, Joaquin Phoenix did a job very worthy of nomination, as did Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Great actors.
It was a very good film. But There Will Be Blood is a lot better, imo.
The Salton Sea - 2002
Stylish crystal meth Film Noir. Surprisingly solid. Kind of a dark Breaking Bad feel to it, only partly due to the similar subject matter.
7/10
Good one. Still watch that one when it comes on just to see VD's Pooh Bear scenes.
Watched the Bourne Trilogy this weekend,in order to be prepared for the 4th coming out on October.
As a trilogy it gets a 9 imo, with the 3rd one being the best.
There is a new Bourne movie aside from The Bourne Legacy?
Legacy is the 4th and newest. It just comes out later in Europe than in US.
Edit: We are the last ing country in the whole world to get the movie

holy you are so poor, that's bad
It was always that way, even in our primes a movie would premiere here pretty late, but that's ridiculous tbh
Might just get nominated
Glengarry Glen Ross - ing great. .
The Avengers - 8/10
Mark Ruffalo really made this movie. He even had the best scene in the gag reel.
Saw Dredd 3D .. 8/10.. It was way better than I thought it would be plus the blond chick in it is freaking jail bait hot!
You need a cigarette?
Yes.
Brass balls, and so on and so forth.
Put. That coffee. Down. Coffee's for closers only.
Seeking Justice 7/10
It was pretty good, it's streaming on Netflix. Guy Pearce and Nic Cage. Surprised I hadn't seen this yet. Pretty intense throughout.

Rotten Tomatoes gave it 25% haha. Reason why I hadn't bothered watching is coz of reviews. Is it actually good??
lol It's not great, but it was worth the watch I thought. I just wanted to kill some time and watched it, and it didn't disappoint me. The 25% might be Nic Cage hate lol
