Per OrangeBloods, S Arrion Springs is headed to campus for an unofficial visit. Big news.

And from 24/7, CB/S Tony Brown is scheduled to meet with the staff today.
Inside Texas reporting that OL/DL Koda Martin of Manvel met with the coaches yesterday and today. Sounds like he's still an A&M lean but it might be closer than most think. Texas wants him at DE where the Ags want him at OT.
Per 24/7, both DE Sione Teuhema and 2015 OL Maea Teuhema were in town today and met with the staff. They're still looking at making a decision this month once their high school's spring practice is over. Texas still looking great.
Quotes from S Arrion Springs (24/7):
“The only way I'm not going to pick Miami or Oregon is if the bowl bans and sanctions are too severe, then I'll see what's out there,” Springs said. “Texas and maybe Oklahoma are the two schools that could change my mind.”
“I actually talked to him (Duane Akina) the night of the [NFL] draft,” Springs said. “He was telling me what he was doing in New York with Kenny [Vaccaro] and basically just telling me that putting DBs in the NFL is what they do."
“It goes with the whole DBU thing and it lets you know that it's something they take great pride in at Texas.”
“They're (Miami) trying to get their program back on the map, and the fact that they want me to help is a big honor,” Springs said. “Coach Williams is my type of coach. I like the way Coach Golden and his staff do things. They're doing it the right way. And you really can't go wrong with a city like Miami.”
“They (Oregon) have top of the line facilities and Coach [John] Neal is a great coach,” Springs said. “He's an underrated coach, but he's very good. I like their playing style on defense and it seems like a nice area to live.”
“If it's too bad could it mess up the chances of me going to either school,” Springs said. “Miami has told me it's been quiet but they're anticipating some kind of probation. Oregon might a two-year probation, or something like that, but they said they want to talk to me more in-depth about that later.”

Update on 2015 RB Jacques Patrick of Orlando, FL (24/7):
“When he (Manny Diaz) got there he talked to my coach for around 30 minutes about me,” Patrick said. “I bumped into him for just a second and he introduced himself, because it was my first time meeting him. He mainly just spoke to my coach about me though. From what my coach told me, he asked all kinds of questions about me as a player and student.”
“I actually called Coach Porter later after Coach Diaz left,” Patrick said. “I called to let him know I was for sure interested. That was my first time talking to him and I really liked him. He seemed like a good guy and good coach who knew what he was talking about.”
“Coach Diaz told my coach that now after he’s seen me he’ll be going back to Texas to talk about me to the other coaches,” Patrick said. “He said that he’s going to sit down and talk with Coach (Mack) Brown and Coach Porter. When I talked to Coach Porter on the phone, he basically said the same thing. They’re supposed to discuss offering me and then they will let me know if they will offer or not by next week.”
“They don’t really recruit outside of Texas too often, so with them doing that and knowing that they are looking at me, that is a big deal,” Patrick said. “A very big deal for me anyway. It’s great to know they came all the way out here to check on me, because that doesn’t normally happen with them recruiting Florida.”
“If they offer me, then I plan to take a trip there this summer for a visit,” he said. “I definitely want to check Texas out and see what it’s all about. I would be excited to do that.”
“I watched a lot of them (Texas) growing up actually,” Patrick said. “I always have liked their program and they’ve always caught my eye. They have a good football program and they're just a great school overall. I’ve always liked them and I’m really interested in them.”
ATH Kevin Shorter of Newton talks about his meeting with the Texas staff (24/7). He does not have an offer at this time but could soon with the de-commitment of RB/FB Daniel Gresham. He's high on Arkansas, LSU and Texas A&M and his first cousin signed with Arky last year.
“[Porter] said they're going into this season with three running backs, and they don't like the way the depth chart looks after that,” Shorter said. “He said they want to take two for sure, and they'll try to take three in this class if they can.”
“My coaches didn't want me to stay too long because I had to jump today and we've got the relay on Saturday,” Shorter said. “Coach Porter told me that was fine and just to come back on Saturday whenever I could.”
“They showed me around the facilities and I saw the weight room, the academic center and the dressing rooms,” Shorter said. “It was a nice visit.”
“They said I fit in perfectly with what they want to do on offense,” Shorter said. “They can put in me the backfield, put me the slot – basically move me all over the field to get the ball in my hands in their up-tempo offense.”
“I just want to see how it feels up there (at Arkansas),” Shorter said. “I think it would be a good situation. To go to a good school and to play with your first cousin is a good situation.”
“Things are still good with me and them (LSU),” Shorter said. “I talked to them the other day when Jeremy Hill and Alfred Blue got into trouble. It sounds like there could be a real chance for me to go there and play.”
“It would change my recruiting somewhat (if Texas offered),” Shorter said. “We'll see.”

Is there a chance that UT Athletic Director DeLoss Dodds will retire before his contract is up in August 2014? We talked to several key sources who revealed some shocking information.
Anybody has anything on this? Just a glance?
DE Victor Evans of Dallas Skyline talks about his Texas offer (HornsNation):
“My head coach is down at Austin for the track meet and he talked to the coaches. They told him I had an offer,” Evans said. “I was pretty much overwhelmed by the whole situation. I still am overwhelmed by the whole situation. I’m blessed to have what I have.”
“They like the ability I have at linebacker but they want me more at defensive end,” he said.
“I prefer D-end,” he said. “It just gives me an advantage to get a jump on the edge and disrupt pass and run plays. My quick feet can help cut off gaps for running backs.”
“They saw me in the spring, and Oscar Giles saw me pretty much have a sack against my own teammates on every play,” Evans said.
“Right now I am just wide open,” he said. “I really don’t have a list or rankings of all the colleges. I’ll narrow it down during the season and make my decision by the playoffs.”
Just saying that his contract is up on 2014 but might retire by the end if the football season. Also, if Powers was to go down, Dodds would retire a bit early so Powers could name Dodds successor.
24/7 now considering WR KD Cannon a heavy Baylor lean. They say he could commit to them as early as this week.
Quick quotes from ATH Davion Hall on his unofficial visit to Texas this weekend (24/7):
“No, it doesn't change anything for me,” Hall said. “It's just another offer.”
“It was alright (the unofficial visit to Texas),” Hall said of the visit. “It was pretty much like everywhere else I've been.”
Per 24/7, Texas is expected to go by Alief Elsik this week to see WR Ishmael Zamora. He won 1st in the 110m hurdles and 2nd in 300m hurdles at state this past weekend. Sounds like UT likes him more than WR Elton Dyer of South Houston at this point:
“They told me they liked me a lot and that they're going to be recruiting me pretty hard from now on,” Zamora said. “The visit was amazing. I got to hold the heavy Heisman Trophy and I saw all of the facilities.”
2015 LB Cameron Townsend of Fort Bend Ridge Point ended up making an official visit to Texas this weekend (24/7):
“I actually visited Texas on Saturday,” said Townsend. “I went there for Mother’s Day Weekend to Austin and to also watch my school in the state track meet. So what were originally just those plans, turned into an unofficial visit to UT.”
“It went very well,” Townsend told Horns247. “It went really well actually. They gave me and my parents another private tour of the facilities. We got to interact with some of the other recruits and their families that were there as well. And, of course, we talked a lot of football with the coaches. My parents and I really enjoyed it all and had a great time.”
“Coach Diaz sat down with me and broke down my highlight tape for me right there,” he said. “He told me both the good and the bad of it. He also told me what he thought what I needed to work on the most and how to improve as a player. It was a really good experience.”
“I’m still keeping my options open,” said Townsend. “So far I have offers from Texas, Baylor and Houston, but have no favorites or anything like that. I don’t even know when I might have any to be honest. I’m not sure. I figure that maybe once I get several offers, I’ll start narrowing them down, but right now I’m open to anyone.”
2015 OL Maea Teuhema hanging with Stacy Searels this weekend. Not sure if this is in the player's lounge or the coaching offices. Mainly posting this because that pool table is badass.

"That's my quarterback!"![]()
I believe this video was put together by the new film guy, Derek Ochoa. 2013 season preview:

I love Jinkens. Hopefully he's an emotional leader of that D for the next few years. He and Tevin need to have a big season.
This is beautiful! I've always thought that LSU had the best videos online. If this is Ochoa's work, then he obviously knows his stuff! Now Texas just need to get a football-only channel on Youtube.
He was also the one who made the Vaccaro highlights after the draft.
Video interview from HornsNation with QB Jerrod Heard:

SIAP, per Burned Orange Nation:
"A decision is looming in the near future for Keller (Texas) brothers Sione and Tristan Teuhema, Sione confirmed to SN Nation Recruiting on Saturday at the Texas UIL state track meet.
It will come down on May 30th following the Keller spring game.
Sione, a 2014 defensive end, and Tristan, a 2015 offensive lineman, plan on attending the same school in college, limiting their choices to those schools that have extended offers to both prospects -- Texas, LSU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Washington State."
Per Fox in Austin, G Julien Lewis wants to transfer out. Texas' basketball program is heading down south. It ain't looking good.
Gerry Hamilton from 24/7 is predicting A&M DB Nick Harvey to end up at Texas.
