Chance yes, but I would think that he would have signed already.

He makes a nice salary, amount unknown, to start for Olympiakos. . He did sign with a new agency in April so a new contract might be desired for them to get their cut

He had a nebulous knee injury near the end of the season but it didn't keep him from appearing with the national team, and apparently surgery isn't necessary.

His buyout situation is easy, iirc it's only 900k and the Spurs can cover 700k of it

After the Marco deal they could only offer him maybe a 3/9 deal. That might not be enough to get him, but we'll find out in less than two weeks because his buyout window closes soon.
    Roger, thanks!

Would have been a better signing than Belinelli..weakens Houston, gets one of the few defensive players in the league on Kyle's level to replace him..
He's also not a pussy and actually willing to shoot the 3.

    grain of salt again

Source: Luc Mbah a Moute not a lock to return to Houston, has other offers on the table

According to a person close to the situation and with knowledge of negotiations, Houston isn’t giving Mbah a Moute the money and long-term security he desires, instead offering him near the same amount as the $2.1 million veteran’s minimum deal he signed for with Houston in the 2017-18 season. The person requested anonymity because he was not authorized to comment about Mbah a Moute.

According to the person, the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Washington Wizards and Philadelphia 76ers have expressed interest, and at least two of these teams have presented offers to Mbah a Moute.

had liked the idea of mbah a moute on the spurs but man, he was awful against the warriors in the POs.

spurs should offer jabari parker the BAE but he probably doesn't go for it and the bucks would probably match.

He injured his shoulder multiple times during the season so of course he was ass. I'd be willing to take a flyer on him though if he's back to full health.

I like his fit with Bertans too. It's like his old pairing with Ilyasova back in the day. He doesn't have much of place unless Leonard stays and Bertans walks or unless he beats Davis out for a rotation spot.

    Murray/Mills
    Green/White/Walker
    Leonard/Belinelli
    Gay/Mbah a Moute/Bertans
    Aldridge/Gasol

    Or perhaps (but not really)

    White/Mills
    Green/Murray/Walker
    Leonard/Belinelli
    Mbah a Moute/Gay/Bertans
    Aldridge/Gasol

That first-unit D should be really good, and White would work great getting both Leonard and Aldridge their touches. Second unit is pace-and-space with a lot of shooting around Gay and Murray there to keep the D from going to complete .

Which player(s) that aren't total and would honestly take the BAE or the remaining MLE if offered?

May as well just sign Beasley. Dude was great for my fantasy team last year. Especially if Gay starts at PF, the team will still need scoring.

Probably speaking from the perspective of someone who thinks the roster is really bad without the team having cap space to sign a "better" player this year.
    EXACTLY

Cheers Chinook, I may be wrong but you've nailed it

You're talking like Leonard is going to finish out the season as a Spur

If SA stays big for some reason or otherwise trades Gasol, then Len makes sense for the BAE, especially for two years. He's not a bad player, but he got Phoenix'd really badly. Booker is a guy who can get rotation minutes on a playoff team and has a bit of versatility to his game. Noquiera probably shouldn't get the BAE, but if Milutinov stays over, he's a good guy to have. Even if Nikola does come over, if Pau is traded, I'd want a vet to compete with him for minutes. I'd still take a flier on Oak for the min.

I still think SA is the most likely place Kawhi will be in October, 2019. If they do trade him, though, I hope the package is heavy on forwards. Getting even two guys for the rotation eliminates the need to compete over MaM. He'd just be depth, and that can be had for the min.

Would definitely take a flyer on Tony Allen for ~$5m per on a 2 year deal... or Afflalo, since he should be a bargain these days.

If we wanna go younger, Napier for the right price is also somebody to look at.

I don't get Napier, but Allen or Affalo could be nice, although I would still prefer Shabazz.

I'm leaning towards Blossomgame actually. I'm assuming the play is getting a wing in any trade so a safe bet with Jaron would be good. He ain't gonna complain about playing time or numbers, and he'll just be happy to be there. I think he's ready... He'd be solid 3rd string wing that can spell relief in spurts. He has and ideal role players game and can do a lil of everything. I like that he's a active with cuts and in transition. Should be an ez guy to blend in with a lot of lineups. Doesn't need the ball to be effective. Also I've like what I've seen from Metu. Definitely one of the best 2nd rounders we've had in a long time. Would like to see him have a shot at making the roster. I think we could use his skill set and it'd be nice to have Bertans have some comp for his stretch four role.

    Guards:
    Murray, Mills, White, Walker, Paul

    Wings:
    Ginobili, Green, Marco, Blossomgame, (Trade)

    Bigs:
    LMA, Gay, Gasol, Bertans, Metu

i seen his name there and wondered why he was still on the board.... I haven't been overtly high on him but everytime I've seen him play he's done well... what's his story??

eh, he's just a guy now. No more potential really, just someone who other people talk up as a decent switching big.

I don't know much more, haven't spent too much time watching him. But any big who is allegedly switchable is interesting to me, because Pau and LMA aren't really excelling at it.

I'm all in for Len, nice rebounder, shotblocker , i like vonleh also ( watching him a litte bit last year in Chicago), imo the best players available are inside, we'll see what will happen with mulitinov.

Mbah moute is a nice target too with what we have left.

I.Thomas for a 1yr/$15 or so mil to Chicago and J.Parker to Sacramento for the same deal they gave Lavine look like matches made in heaven.

As for the Spurs, hope they could get one or two of Beasley, Len, Mbah a Moute or even Nogueira. Wish they'd have gone for Ellington over Marco but he probably will get too much. Perhaps Metu will get the typical 2nd round pick contract.
