GS will beat this Spurs team but luckly the Spurs are tanking to avoid them as well
Go forth, and copulate. Preferably with Amare.

This loss hurts, dammit. I was looking forward to end that skid. Now I just want to smash something. To see them play so well in the 1st, and then give it up. Someone needs to blow up. Maybe Manu, maybe Tim.

, I know this is just basketball, but this one just makes me so mad and it makes it even harder to keep on believing. But for whatever it's worth, I still believe this team will win it all this year. You've got 15 games to right the ship, San Antonio. Do it.

I'm still going to cheer for the Spurs. It's hard to not be pissed but they are trying so we can't fault them. They just don't have it. I'm not going to expect much this year and if it turns out otherwise? Then hey, all the more better. They are still a good team and they have been a damn good team for so long and I think we are pretty spoiled, as we (myself included) are considering this season a disappointment. The Orlando Magic are having their best year since, what, the 90's? And we are still better record wise than they are. In our "worst" year. Not too bad I would say. We can probably make it out of the first round but as usual, I think the semifinals will be our kryptonite this year. Maybe this will wake the front office up and push them to go after better players, spend time investing in young talent and spending a little extra money to get some decent players. Anyway, a tough loss to swallow but nothing lasts forever...

The lowlight for me was watching Rondo grab that O rebound while three spurs were around him still motionless.
I thought we had a chance after we left KG with that open brick. We shouldn't have doubled him as much I thought, it was the other Cs that really hurt us and we all know how KG is in crunchtime.

What really sucks is the WAY they lost...I could understand if it was a tight, back-and-forth game the whole way through, and the Celtics hit a last second shot to win the game...I'd still feel bad about the loss, but I'd understand. To blow a 20+ point lead like that, though, AT HOME, is INEXCUSABLE!!!

that's the problem with being a spurs fan.

anything less than a championship will be seen as a monumental failure.

I don't see anyone embarrassing the Spurs. The worst I could see is a loss in 6 games, and they would be mostly close games.

Pretty much. Spurs can get lucky and get a favorable matchup in the first couple of rounds. But at this point, I don't know how they'll be able to play on the road against teams like the Jazz, a healthy Lakers team, or even a Mavs team without HCA. As Barkley mentioned, in the West this season, you have to grab a top 4 seed, otherwise it's too much to think a team at the bottom half can win 3 straight games without HCA.

Cassell and Rondo easily covered and surpassed any Ray Allen absence. While Spurs had 3 starters totaling 12 pts.

That's rather arrogant but it's the absolute truth. If we don't repeat, everything in this season means absolutely nothing. It's a failure no matter what. We could lose in the Finals in 7 games, with losing game 7 by 1 point off of a buzzer beater, and it would be a failure.

We're actually embarassing ourselves right now. Timmy is... And please, for the love of humanity, will you please take Finley back to your team?

The Celtics are an extremely good team. They've drubbed the Lakers two times in a row. In all earnest, I hope they lose to the Pistons in the ECF.

Touch stretch Spur fans. Rest up. That Chicago game will not be easy.

Could time finally be catching up with the Spurs??? They just seem to get tired so much now. Losing games in the 4th quarter is the hallmark of a physically tired team. Maybe this Spurs team just doesn't have any more left in the tank. Maybe it's time for Pop to get some young blood and start rebuilding.

On the other hand...yes, it was a loss, but it was to the team with the best record in the NBA...they are #1 for a reason...at least it wasn't the Knicks...

To bring some sunshine to you all:

Regular season games do not win championships. They are simply for season entertainment. Which is why true sportsfans call the playoffs the 'real' season. Relax guys, they are in a funk, they'll bounce back. And NO, they are not too old. They've played a load of games with not so much rest, therefore, it proves that they are indeed HUMAN. Once they catch their breath, they'll bounce back. Once the playoffs start, you'll see that they are virtually impossible to be beaten in a 7-game series. It's been PROVEN time and time again. Trust me, they are still the team to beat once the 'real' season arrives. I'm sure may anti-Spurs folks will disagree, but as I've said in the past...."ALL IN GOOD TIME". So relax one, one and wait for the 'real' season to begin. They will be fine.

For sure the Spurs will play better in the Playoffs.

Problem right now is if they keep screwing around, they're going to miss the Playoffs completely. Spurs 3 losses away from missing the Postseason and 3 away from a top seed.

This applies to all the Western teams, you can't be dropping 4 games in a row this year, it's too tight. Every game is vital.

Trust me, I understand exactly what you're saying. But remember, they are still the defending champions. They will be just fine. I know that when they lose, we tend to lose hope, and that is perfectly natural...but again, the road to the championship is through San Antonio.

Even though a loss for the Spurs would help out our team I was pulling for you guys to win it in the end. It's got to be completely disheartening to have a 22 pt lead completely pissed away and have the game snatched right from your fingertips in the very end. I have no idea what is wrong with the Spurs, that 1st quarter looked like classic Spurs basketball but it just all fell apart in the 2nd half.

The Spurs have been stiffing 20 point leads away for years, totally used to it.

Well I never thought the Mavs would catch up to the Spurs in the standings so quickly. For those so hard on Dallas losing 4 of 5 games can now see how rough a schedule can be on the team. Well anyways looking forward to our next meeting.
