17 years of financial repression kicked savers in the gut and drove them toward high-yield, high risk, high fee investments. when 2008 came along, a lot of nest eggs went poof.
the latter dominates for the victims of the oligarchy, not your accusatory, victim-blaming "undisciplined". 1945-75 it was possible for the middle class to have a comfortable life AND save, but now 3/4 of country would be hit hard by $500 emergency expense, consume 100% of their paychecks, paycheck to paycheck, and Banksters Great Depression stole 4M homes forcing people to become renters (no equity) and victims of predatory landlords.
and the bull of the "miracle of compound interest". Works miracles for lenders to college students/families at sub-prime 7%.
There was a story on college debt recently where a girl left college $70K in debt, paid back $50K over a few years, to end up with $70K debt.
17 years of financial repression kicked savers in the gut and drove them toward high-yield, high risk, high fee investments. when 2008 came along, a lot of nest eggs went poof.
I guess the small businesses banding together just flew over some's heads - that not just those over 70 but some who don't have a 401k at all would be able to .
BigFinance, smelling money, will somehow worm into those funds and collect big fees.
Well, let's not do anything at all since BigXXXXX will take advantage.
yep, iow, America is ed and un able.
The oligarchy has America in a financial vise, full-court unbreakable press.
Notice how Americans' Real Incomes are still FLAT, (just tiny fraction ahead of inflaton) but, they "feel good" about the hyped
"booming economy" so they are spending more, increasing Househould Debt to record level, on which debt the oligarchy is collecting interest
Americans have amassed a record $13.2 trillion in debt, but economists aren’t that worried about it
https://qz.com/1280927/us-household-...13-2-trillion/
and economists. They weren't "worried about" the pre-Banksters Great Depression years, either.
hope something actually comes of it, that would be probably be good. Trump's EO doesn't actually establish anything.
so yeah, everyone who wants to applaud Trump for exhorting the government to do good things can do so ....now.
Trash doesn't do "good things" For The People, he is (as dictated by Mnuchin, BigFianance donors, etc) extending the fees that BigFinance fleeces from 401K accounts.
yeah, that's the main drawback of 401(k)s other than investment risk: management fees.
the $100Bs in fee income were the entire (hidden) strategy behind BigFinance getting 401K created.
Imagine if those 401K $Ts had been shifted into risk-free Social Security or Medicare for all?
People wouldn't need to blow through their 401Ks for retirement medical costs.
something like 50% of Go Fund Me accounts are to pay medical expenses.
NY Attorney General: Trump Charity Illegally Bankrolled His Campaign
the Attorney General of New York has pledged to continue with a lawsuit against the president for misusing charitable funds donated to the Trump Foundation.
According to her,Trump used the Foundation
as a personal piggybank and
a source of money to illegally fund his businesses and
also his political campaign.
In filing the suit, Underwood wrote that the
Trump Foundation “was little more than a checkbook for payments from Mr. Trump or his businesses to nonprofits, regardless of their purpose or legality.”
The suit seeks $2.8 million in res ution and the foundation’s disbandment.

It's Just AWESOME to assoicate with Trash
Former Trump associates forced to run GoFundMe campaigns
after being swamped with legal bills
with their proximity to the president.
According to Axios, both former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn and Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen, have each gone hat in hand to the public as their legal problems multiply while being investigated by special counsel Robert Mueller.
To date, the attorney’s “Michael Cohen Truth Fund” has raked in just short of $170,000.
In the case of Flynn, who is reportedly also working with investigators in an effort to secure a plea deal, his family set up a defense fund website.
“The costs of legal representation associated with responding to the multiple investigations that have arisen in the wake of the 2016 election place a great burden on Mike and his family. They are deeply grateful for considering a donation to help pay expenses relating to his legal representation,” the pitch reads, accompanied by a glowing portrayal of Flynn as a military man who served his country.
Trump associates Cohen and Flynn aren’t the only ones who have sought help from the highly-polarized public.
Andrew McCabe, the former deputy director of the FBI who was unceremoniously fired just short of retirement by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, also went the public funding route, raising more than half a million dollars to helpmpay for a legal challenge to his dismissal.

Trump tweets names of black supporters after poll shows him at
3 percent approval among African-Americans
Trash resident took to Twitter on Sunday morning and proceeded to list off the names of a few of his high-profile black supporters in the wake of a poll that shows him with a paltry 3 percent approval rating among African-Americans.
“Tiger Woods showed great class in the way he answered the question about the Office of the Presidency and me.
Now they say the so-called ‘left’ is angry at him.
So sad,
but the ‘center & right’ loves Tiger, Kanye, George Foreman, Jim Brown & so many other greats, even more.”
“The fact is that African/American unemployment is now the lowest in the history of our country.
Same with Asian, Hispanic and almost every other group."but never "same with" whites

Let's put that to the test.
Lol at twitter being done if he leaves it
You're an idiot for believing that
336 million active monthly users worldwide
Imagine being this much of a sycophant, living vicariously through powerful toughguys because you're such an insecure dweeb in real life.
And what would you do without Twitter anyway, Citizen X?

yet another poll showing racist pig Trash cratering
Trump's Approval Number Nose-Dives, Dems' Blue Wave Might Be Building: IBD/TIPP Poll
The broader IBD/TIPP
Presidential Leadership Index plunged 11.6% to 40.4. That's one of the biggest monthly drops
since IBD started tracking this index in January 2000. The proprietary Leadership Index combines results from several questions on approval, favorability and strength of leadership.
Trump's Approval: Losing GOP Support
Trump lost significant ground on job approval with Republicans this month, which fell from 83% last month to 76% this month.
Among independents, Trump's approval dropped 4 points to 33%.
Democratic approval has never been above the low single digits.
He also saw a big drop in support from men (it went from 49% last month to 40% today).
His backing among women, however, barely changed. It's currently 32%.

And yet, the less, spineless Repugs are terrified of both Trash and his ed-up fringe base.
Michael Eric Dyson just dragged the out of Trash on live television
Dyson set aside about a minute to excoriate Donald Trump, contrasting him with someone like Aretha Franklin—someone who actually offered the world a gift.
And then, this orange apparitionhttps://www.dailykos.com/stories/201...tail=emaildkre
had the nerve to say she worked for him.
You lugubrious leach!
You doppelgänger of deceit and deviance!
You lethal liar!
You dimwitted dictator!
You foolish fascist!
She ain’t work for you.
She worked above you!
She worked beyond you!
Get your preposition right!
Then he got the nerve to say he goin’ grab it.
That ain’t what Aretha Franklin said.
“I’m gonna give you something you can feel.”
Like the brothers in the streets say,
“Tap lightly. Like a woodpecker with a headache.”
So don’t you sully the memory of our great Queen.
Aretha Franklin was an original.
Never one like her before.
Never another like her afterwards.
Write that off the checklist then. Trump, like Hillary gets a thrill off wanting dictators killed.![]()
Cos Woodward's word is gold. Amirite?
