I completely agree. That opening was when I realized I was watching something totally unique from any other show on TV.
Negro y Azul is what really sold me on the show in Season 2

Just a little anecdote about the show: My 2 sisters-in-law own homes in a real fancy pants country club in Albuquerque, which was approached by the producers for some on location filming. There was a special homeowners meeting called to discuss it which resulted in an overwhelming NO. The homeowners took a stand against the "liberal agenda" behind the show and have since boycotted it![]()
So I guess this answers your question of "who's NOT watching the show"?![]()
vince gilligan apparently cried when writing the final scenes of the finale. i expect it to be amazing.

"Say my name... you know who I am..." greatest 2 minutes of TV ever.
Just finished first half of season five. So far I like it much better than the fourth. The train heist and "magnet" episode were fantastic.
I thought Gus's decisions regarding Jesse were poorly done in the fourth season. He went from "your partner is a junkie who kills my employees because they sell to kids" to "Jesse i want you to be my official cook and i want to kill Walter".
The only gripe i have about season five is that i was hoping Hank would figure it out on his own rather than stumbling upon that evidence in Walter's bathroom. Hank was able to figure out Gus yet he cant deduce Walter is involved even though he knows Walt is connected to Jesse, the gas masks from Walts school, the description of "Heisenberg" that matches Walt, Walt's odd behavior and sudden wealth etc.
Leave it to DSF to have an opinion that reeks of dumbassery.
If Gus made nothing but perfect decisions, then he wouldn't have been killed by Walter, would he?
Additionally, he realized that even though Jesse isn't super intelligent, he is loyal, and trainable. Walt on the other hand, has supreme intelligence, and is a disloyal, selfish hard-ass who wants things only done his way. Walt was a far bigger threat to Gus' empire than Jesse could ever be, which was why Gus' #1 goal was to find a way to get rid of Walter, without causing any delays in his business. The fact that Gus wasn't able to pull it off like he hoped, got killed, and lost his empire, is proof of that.
Hm, maybe it's because its the fact that Walt is his "stick up the ass" "goody-two-shoes" brother in law, that no one would expect to be doing such an extreme level of crime? I'd say it's pretty easy for him to be blinded from that fact, because he views Walt with a certain level of bias. Not to mention Walt's plethora of lies and well thought out cover up stories clouding things up further.
expecting dsf to see something from the character's pov
also, it's not as if all of those clues were dismissed completely by Hank considering he put it all together right there on the ter right after reading the journal
I dont want to act as if I dont love the show, but I disagree with you on both points.
Gus's first conversation with Walt emphasized on how careful he was.
"Youre NOT careful Mr. White. Your partner was two hours late and he was HIGH."
Im not buying that he decides to put the supply side of his million dollar operation in the hands of an ex-junkie. I understand the whole "Jesse can be trained", but Walt was working out just fine until Jesse started "skimming of the top" of their cook in the super lab and then decided he wanted to kill the two goons selling to the kid etc.
Likewise Hank didn't really "put it all together", he found that book with the inscription written by Gale by pure dumb luck. He skips that page and he's still absolutely clueless that it was Walt.
After his former superior made that comment about Gus being "under his nose the whole time", I thought hank would revisit what he knew at look at things in a different angle.
He didn't "put the clues together", it was the equivalent of a husband finding out his wife is cheating by finding a love letter.
He had to remember the "w.w." thing from gales notes but that hardly makes him Sherlock considering he was pondering who w.w. was.
I understand u guys aren't nearly as smart as I am but I feel like this isn't hard stuff. You both would be completely lost watching mad men.
Again, I love this show. Hard to pick a favorite episode. Maybe the one where Walt had to try and wake up Jesse from his heroin coma to make their big score. That was intense.
Don't read further if you haven't caught up.
The other theory going around is how Walt picks up traits of everyone he kills. Weird coincidence that he is going by Lambert which is Skylar's maiden name.
Ugh six more days!
Burr has been in New Orleans filming the finale the last two weeks.
The train robbery episode is my favorite. Edge of your seat the entire episode with a heartbreaking ending.
