+1. Great post...
Here's what I don't get about all of the post-game reactions. The team could have won the game if Tim Duncan had: either completed his shot after getting fouled (he just threw the ball in the direction of the basket) for an AND-1,
or if he had both of his free throws.
Dammit. Tim is the guy making 22 million f'ing dollars a year. Stop blaming the losses on guys who are making just a fraction of what he is making. He wants the ball at the end of games? Fine. He wants the refs to call the fouls? Fine. JUST MAKE THE DAMN FREE THROWS!!!
Everyone missed free throws, except Tony!
Did Pop get interviewed after the match?

Houston Rockets 119, San Antonio Spurs 114: The devolution of all things

After the Spurs’ Game 3 loss to the Suns in last year’s playoffs, there was a scene from the locker room that has stuck in my mind. Tim Duncan was sitting on the floor with Gregg Popovich crouching down beside him. Their once great defense had been shredded for a third consecutive game, especially on Steve Nash-led high screen and rolls. The series had come unraveled, and they didn’t have answers.

I'm not sure he's making quite that much but I get your point. The big three are making over half of the entire payroll on this team, but they are playing exactly like they did last year when the Suns spanked them out of the second round. Pop needs to box Parker and slap Ginobili and tell them that proper execution in the 4th means taking care of the ball and making the right plays(yes guys, you have to run the damn play and pass the ball to the open man). I don't care if the three of them score 75 in the first 3 quarters, a couple of bad plays in the 4th will over shadow.![]()
Them's fightin' words!
The voice of reason. Hope Tim isn't hurt badly, he's looking badass..seriously!

Only the spurs could manage a low like this after such a great season. They are getting ready for the play-off run. Lower our expectations once again, do a bit of over-achieving and then give it away.
Grasping for straws here but saw some sort of flexibility from Pop when he went back to Blair starting in the second half. Too bad that faith didn't extend into 4th where it became Dice and Bonner time once again.
