Forcibly retired like Matt Bonner.

Forcibly retired like Matt Bonner.
Spurs not wanting you is the kiss of death, man. There's too strong of a notion that if you can't make it in SA, you can't make it anywhere.
Spurs dropped Rasual Butler for this scrub
Would have rather had Austin Daye
Even Jimmer found a job in China, tbh
still better than Kyle Anderson tbh

Kevin Martin retires after 12-season run in league.
Such a piece-of- acquisition.
unsurprising.
Is this the tiest off-waiver move made by PATFO?
For quite the numbers and the role he's had throughout, his career must have been so irrelevant and empty that ESPN is defining it as a "run" and in the context another player..

The acquisition made sense to anyone who was not an Anderson fanboy/girl. They desperately needed another proven wing, that could shoot.
People have blown this out of proportion. He struggled, but he also barely played; so let's not act as if he derailed the team.
Isnt Butler also out of the NBA?
not really. Spurs needed a wing that could score. KL couldnt get to the line when it mattered. Why wouldn't you try a vet who made his stay in the nba by getting to the line and getting buckets. Unfortunately he couldnt really play off the ball. he required ISO-ball, and played scared. Should be more of an indictment on the "pros" that the NBA hires. Guy couldnt play sound, fundamental basketball, yet was a great scorer during his prime. NBA is entertainment folks, nothing more.
Just like Tmac, Pop barely played this guy.
Kevin Martin had nothing to do with Rasual Butler getting waived.
Matt Bonner and Kyle Anderson got him cut. Useless pieces of
Butler would not have been the difference maker last year, sorry. LMAO!!!
In retrospect, Pop burying Simmons for K-Mart was absolutely inexcusable last season ..Should have let J-Simms crash and burn and learn from experience instead of bringing washed-up vets with foot in retirement..There is no in upside with these guys..
This is the thing with Pop, only injuries were going to force his hand to play the young and athletic..And that's probably the only blessing coming from Parker injury with regards to Murray's development next season..
Almost wish D-Lee tweaks an ankle so we can get Bertans/Dedmon play more minutes in the Dubs series..
no. judging by simmons performance this series pop did the right thing.
I and other said that last season, but bc of the hate for KA guys and/or trolls dismissed that and decided to bandwagon with Martin.
You can find posts here and in the think tank where I was arguing even as mistake prone as Simmons was when he finally got benched last season he was outplaying Martin in the last few games of the year and seemed to bring energy and even scoring in ways martin didn't do... Martin was horrendous.
Anyways, I think Pop learned that lesson at least in terms of knowing that he needed to develop youth again (after he developed the crop that yielded Kawhi, Danny, Mills, Cojo, Tiago, that group... he couldn't just stand pat and continue to rely on TOSB on vet min contracts, and that he had to go back to develop youth again.)
I didn't want Lee this season at all by the way, I knew he would delay development of Spurs prospects that they need going forward and there was no upside to Lee.
He's been much better than expected, but Pop has probably still over-relied on him. He is certainly given more opportunities or chances than younger guys who get pulled at the slightest thing.
Simmons was the better player. Unfortunate he couldn't get burn last year in the playoffs.
Kevin Martin was atrocious. Worst buy out addition Spurs have ever had. Even Drew Gooden was better.
Was T-mac bought out before signing with SA? mofo never even scored as a spur![]()
