So does a player actually have to be on scholarship to get NIL money? Or can Arch just be a walk on?
Seems to me I recall Ricky Williams giving back his scholarship slot after receiving minor league baseball money
Manning and all of the TEs are now following Endries.
Nope.
The Matador Club actually gave several Tech walk-ons $25K one season.
The father of DE offer Luke Wafle from Princeton, NJ talks about their Texas visit (247):
"This was Luke's fourth time down," David Wafle, Luke's father, told Horns247. "But it was the first visit in which he got to kind of see the practice, got a great tour of McCombs School of Business, he got to sit in the pre-practice position meetings before. And then after practice we got to meet with Coach (LaAllan) Clark and go over defensive strategies. Then we had a good position meeting with Coach PK (Pete Kwiatkowksi). He had been down for a game, which you don't get to do any of that stuff pregame, and then we were down at the barbecue last year. So this was the first time we actually got to sit and go to a practice and get the real unofficial visit tour. It was great. It was everything we wanted to see, everything Luke wanted to experience. Met with Coach (Torre) Becton who Luke really, really, really likes, and thinks is one of the best. Luke is basically kind of doing the same workouts Coach Becton is doing with the team. He got a lot out of that meeting. It was great."
"Texas is very high on his list," David Wafle said. "He's done a lot of unofficials all spring and he really feels like going down and seeing a practice, and sitting in team meetings, and being around the players is kind of the most important trip he could make. That's why we're coming. Texas is huge. We love it there. Very excited to get down for the OV."
"You know, you really like a place, you want to get in there to see what a day in the life looks like to get that final look heading into June."
"What we've said to both Owen (Luke's brother) and Luke … they had a great time playing with each other in high school but you can't let that make your decision for you," David Wafle said of how Luke's older brother being in State College impacts his recruitment. "Luke's interest in Penn State is based on the program, the coaches, his position coach, and feeling like Penn State is a great university is really on the right track. It's a great problem to have all these playoff teams and preseason No. 1s on the list. Not too bad."

Quotes from WR offer Mason James of Norman, OK after his visit to campus last weekend (247):
"It was amazing for me and my family to get here," James told Horns247. "Very blessed and honored. Even though I got the offer pretty late, for the Texas family to be showing me a lot of love is really big for me even late in this process."
"Really Daylan McCutcheon," he said of who he was watching. "He's kind of my same size and height. Really the way they were using him inside and outside. The way he was able to learn the offense pretty early on is something I'm looking forward to doing as soon as I get on campus wherever I'm at. Really watching him play and seeing him make the plays were really inspiring me a lot."
"Really they were preaching to me about the culture, telling me how well I'd fit in and how they use speed," he said. "The main thing is the pro-style offense and how they get players to the league as you can see the last two to three years. All the players that have gotten drafted, the wide receivers, it's really starting to turn into a Wide Receiver U in my opinion. Really just the development is key from Coach Sark and Coach Jackson, the way they work together and the way they develop their receivers really impresses me."
"Definitely one of my top schools, for sure," he said of where the Longhorns stand.
"I'm more of a players type of guy," he said of his rooting interests.
"To me distance really isn't a big problem with me," he said. "I've got a really good support staff, my mom, my dad, my grandparents. So really the best place for me is where I feel like I fit in, the offense that I fit into, a coach that's going to take care of me, the head coach, the wide receivers coach, really guys I feel like I can be around all the time"
