Yeah i’m pretty sure that was less of a tranny joke and more of a joke about how Beto is the new trendy Texas Democrat who “might turn the state purple” but ultimately will fail miserably like the others before him.

Beto is a really good candidate who is unfortunately running in the wrong state. He has a good future in politics regardless of what happens this year.

Agreed. He is better suited for the national stage anyway. Even if he just keeps it within a few points with Cruz that’s a of a job and will be good for him.

No reason to go door to door in San Antonio. Blue city just like all the border cities/counties.

Your point would make sense if voter turnout was 100%, or if Senators were elected by some kind of state-wide Electoral College.

He is working his butt off, visiting anywhere and everywhere. Places that Cruz has probably taken for granted for years.

Ocasio-Cortez had it right when she said that Democratic success is not from getting voters to go from Republican to Democrat, but from non-voter to voter.

Democratic policies tend to be favored by majorities of the population.

I think the current polls overstate how close it is. Most likely result is Cruz win.

But, it is more narrow than it has been in years. I have never seen progressives and Democrats in Texas so energized. Energized, but not organized, at least in my neck of the woods.

I think 2020 will be a much stronger showing for Democrats in Texas, as the party gets it act together after years of atrophy/apathy.

Norwegian researchers analyzed the IQ scores of Norwegian men born between 1962 and 1991 and found that scores increased by almost 3 percentage points each decade for those born between 1962 to 1975 -- but then saw a steady decline among those born after 1975.

Similar studies in Denmark, Britain, France, the Netherlands, Finland and Estonia have demonstrated a similar downward trend in IQ scores, said Ole Rogeberg, a senior research fellow at the Ragnar Frisch Center for Economic Research in Norway and co-author of the new study.
Studies' findings on display in several recent posts to this thread tbh ...

Since its creation Republicans have repeatedly slashed their funding. Weird how that works.

A majority of Repugs are at least laissez-faire on abortion and for pathway to citizenship for Dreamers and other immigrants.

The hate-filled evangelical so-called Christians are the tag wagging the Repug two-tailed dog, the other tail wagged by the oligarchy.

With you on this. I'm pro-choice on abortion (but against it personally), think Dreamers should have a clear path to citizenship, and (since my family are immigrants) support LEGAL immigration.

    Agreed on all points.

Data I have seen on immigration says that more is generally better for a country, especially economically.

Yep...file the paperwork, wait in line like everyone else, and I'm 100% for you being a US citizen.
