i disagree. the team had TWO of its top 4 defensive ends go down that week. it was a worthwhile gamble to take on the guy. unfortunately, a guy with little history of injuries was banged up for the entire season. as it was, he was still the team's second best DE for most of the year - that's how thin they were.
yes, in retrospect you'd rather not make the move. but without the benefit of hindsight, it wasn't that bad. the only way you never get burned is if you don't take risks.
i'm no vinny fan, but i wouldn't rank JT in his top 20 dumbest moves.
