The Rockets have never looked this good on paper, at least not in the Yao/T-Mac era. None of those past teams had a 3rd option, and half didn't have a bench.

And that's not to say Houston is the favorite, but to say they look good on paper similar to past years is not a valid comparison really.
even with yao and tmac the team has looked good on paper. don't act like they never had a chance. Until the Rockets actually do something then I'll start taking notice. It seems like every year they are going to do something, but nope then its a first round exit again.

How high is the goal???? Isnt all goals 10ft what does yao being 7'6 have to do with getting getting dunked on? Most nba players can dunk if u raised the goal to 11ft, what do you prefer yao do, push the player out of mid air so he dosnt get dunked on? Duncan is also a 7'0 fter I guess he sucks too cuz smaller guys dunked on him also. Its the nba

You know as a Rocket fan Ive never been worried about the Spurs. Rockets always played slow teams close. Rockets had matchup problems with quicker teams like phx, and mavs who always pushed the ball up the floor looking to score before the defense set. Spurs and Rockets played a simular style of basketball, halfcourt defensive grind it out kinda basketball.

And you still sound like the fan of a team that has actually done something meaningful.

Roxsfan: "Look we have a proven team now that we have added Artest. We might actually accomplish something before 2 decades pass...blah, blah."

While we have been busy hanging banners from our ceiling you have been busy either A. Swimming in mediocrity or B. Choking away the playoffs. What makes you think you deserve any respect from anyone? My team and my three superstars are proven and yours have been the ass end of jokes for years now.

Honestly, I do hope we meet full strength in the playoffs...but that is a long way away and just like us you have many obstacles to overcome. The fact is that you have thrown your chips in on a player that has been a problem on every team he has played on. They were talking championship in Indiana too...then there was the brawl...which he still thinks he was justified in doing. The fact is that Yao is supposed to be in his prime, but has been unable to get within 25 games of finishing a season in the past 3 years.

These are facts...I'm not making them up...and you can use the word "insecure" all you want to describe me or any other Spurs fan. But if you think for one minute that you don't have just as many worries or possibly even more than we do, then there is only one word to describe you....denial.
Fair enough, but I get tired of everyone wishing and taking pleasure in the rockets getting hurt. Having the rox win a championship will be extra-sweet as these tools who wish for players to get hurt can all go themselves. Not saying you are included in that list.

No , I can guarantee you Yao and Tim D. could push a little right out of the air while they're dunking--but that would be dirty.

you have never been worried about the spurs? Thats because they haven't even met in any meaningful playoff games to give you a reason to worry. And you say Rockets have had trouble agaisnt teams like the Suns, well you do realize that the Spurs have never lost a playoff series against them since 03 right? So maybe you see the Spurs and Rockets as the same, but the Spurs have been known to adjust to teams and beat them at thier own game. They had many gears to switch into.

they have looked good on paper, just not on xrays. They have won 50 or more games for many seasons, but too bad they have not done damage in the playoffs.

Rockets will fail due to injury yet again.
Mavericks will fail due to Kidd being even older and slower.
Spurs are on the decline, but will still do better in the end.

LOL its ironic spurs fans keep bringing up injuries and before the season has even started have one of their stars on the injured list.

It is just not injuries, its the fact they have not been able to get out of the first round for how many years now? Spurs have had players sit out with injuries, and they still won the championship.

Its more than health, when rockets played mavs both Yao and Tracy played and had good games also our first matchup with jazz both Yao and Tracy played and had a good series. Anyone with any basketball knowledge knows 2 players can not win alone. The reason our stars are always injured because they are the rockets. The role players didnt add anything in the playoffs.
