Mavs fans you must understand this wont be an easy loss. The Lakers strategy is to make you think you have hope, that you have a secure lead. By halftime you'll be up by 20 and in high spirits. Then itll come crashing down, Lakers ahead by the end of the quarter, and up by 20-30 at the end. No, this wont be an easy loss.

Lakers (5-0) and playing in Dallas are due for a loss.
Dallas (2-4) with no home wins so far, is due for a win.
Combine that with Dirk's panache for going off on the Lakers and you get less than a blowout win.
Of course, the handi-cappers haven't seen these new Lakers play these new Mavs so they could be WAAYYY off.
You'd be surprised what the handicappers in Vegas know. Those guys are amazing at setting tempting lines to reel in bets. They have to know something to make this line as small as it is. 10 would be too much, 7 might be ideal but 5.5 is just enough to bring in a lot of money on the LA side.

Maybe Carlisle will be smart and start giving Shawne Williams some playing time. Green & Williams are the future of the Mavs, so get them in there and see if they can be the complementary pieces Dirk has always wanted.

But I just can't see anyway this is a 5.5 point game. Maybe Kobe isn't playing or something.

And that's the risk they're taking. If, for some reason, the Mavs win or keep it close, then think of all the money they'd have brought in on that -5.5 line. But Vegas doesn't like to lose, so there has to be something off which they're basing this.
