You can't compare the two teams, Mavs started out poorly but peaked later.
Lakers have been rolling since Day 1.
Bynum continues to put up those all time great numbers. He is by far the best center in the game.

I see a lot of sad sack "other" team fans talking ....worry about your own teams. The last time I saw the standings the lakers are owning the west. Oh and I love the Dallas comparisons....too funny. I forgot every team that wins 60+ always lose in the first round. Pathetic.
Lakers play to the level of their compe ion, they always have, including when Kareem and Magic were playing. Other teams always try harder against us. That's ok, keeps us sharp. Bring on the good teams and we will win plenty of those just as we have been doing since we got Gasol.

Last season, before the Gasol trade, Lakers had a 15-13 record against teams that made the playoffs that season. After that, we were 11-3 and Gasol was injured early in one loss and missed another. We dumped several games to pretenders.
This year, I think we are 10-1 against teams that made the playoffs last year. When the Lakers go back to an even record against contenders, I'll be worried. Lakers do play to the level of their compe ion, so watch out league!

With Pau out, he got the start and he delivered. This is why the Lakers won't trade him, nobody to backup Pau or Bynum. Josh Powell and Chris Mihm are decent but not Lamar Odom quality.
