I am with you TimVP, I've been pro cavs for 2 reasons.

    1. I don't want garnett to have another ring.
    2. The team of the decade argument, and FTL.

Lebron deserves a championship anyhow, and a majority of laker fans don't deserve one.

There is no greater sign that your team is on top than seeing how hated they are around the league. The fact that THIS Laker team can generate so much hate is a good sign to me. Shows me the Lakeshow is back on top again.

Enjoy the offseason Spur fans !

It's not that I like the Cavs. Their azzhat pregame crap is definitely weak. This is 100% based on selfish Spurs fandom. Kobe wins a ring and then there's an argument that Kobe > Duncan. The Lakers win a ring and there's an argument this Lakers era > this Spurs era. And FTL.

The Cavs winning makes 2007 look more impressive. It also helps the Spurs look impressive considering the Cavs basically stole all their personnel and strategy from San Antonio.

Protecting the Spurs' legacy doesn't end with their season ending . . .
Exactly. Its not that Im a huge cavs fan, cuz im not, though I do like how lebron carries himself and don't mind any of the players on their team. Unlike the fakers-specifically kobe and phil who I kind of hate with a passion....yep i do. So for me it's whoever plays the lakes ill be rooting for (against all my stupid socal friends who love the lakes), and the teams with the best chances are the Nuggets and Cavs. BTW Houston will get swept if they beat portland. No doubt, swept! I'm hoping portland can come back somehow because they give the lakes a lot more problems than houston.

You have to win it all before really being on top again, right? But they're close.

I'm sorry, but at the end of the day, I couldn't care less if some people decide to hate on our team and it's legacy. I'm actually very thankful to have been a contemporary to this Spurs team, and be able to say I've seen them play.
Nobody is taking that away from me, Kobe, Lebron, Lakers, John Barry or whoever else.

I'm very surprised to see Spurs support for the Cavs. That being said, I wouldn't expect you to support the Lakers, Mavs, or Celtics so I guess it pretty much defaults to them.
    Its like this....

Mavs (from the fans on up to the ownership) are a bunch of ing bags that dont know how to win gracefully. The only thing worse than a sore loser is a sore winner.

The Lakers, and especially their fans, are a bunch of self-en led pricks, but definately not near as bad as the Mavericks in recent years. They still suck major ing for their collusion bull trade.

The Celtics have Kevin "Anything is possible because I'm a ing asshole" Garnett who is probably a bigger ing assinine Monger than any 4 players combined from either the Mavs or the Lakers.

So the only logical choice is the Cavs.

P.S. I dont know why but JJ Barea realy bothers the out of me. I like his game alot, Mavs got a good pick with him! There is just something about his personality or looks that makes me want to ing kick his teeth in. I swear on my mother and fathers graves its not because he torched the Spurs.... Honestly.... there is just something about him that makes me enraged and want to beat the living out of him. It pisses me off because I cant actually figure out why. The only thing I can come up with is that he acts like a ing Wigger but Im still not sure if thats it or not.

Another reason: George Gervin was in this commercial:

Damn those shoes sucked and Lebron looks a young.

Also lol @ Jerry West being the only white guy there.

Nothing short of playing against Karl Malone would make me root for the Rockets.
Asterisks die hard. I have rooted against the Lakers for the entire Phil/Kobe/Shaq era and I don't see any reasons to stop now. I just can't root for those guys. They suck worse than anyone else.

Cavs all the way. And don't forget Hank Egan is up there with Brown and Ferry's Spurs blood. LeBron over Kobe anyday.

And for only a few games - go nuggets.

I definitely will pull for the cavs. I have always like Lebron's game and the way he handles himself on the court despite all the hype he has gotten. The cavs winning creates an opportunity for the destruction of Kobe's legacy, along with a serious mind ala mav's 07 from which the Lakers won't ever recover from. Plus I love a trainwreck would love to see doom and gloom all over Lakernation.

The Cavs are the best bet to prevent Boston or the Lakers from winning, so I'm on board. I'm not sure I could even watch another Laker-Celtics Finals, since one of them would have to win. In that case, I would consider a Laker win ever so slightly less objectionable than seeing KG and Allen go back-to-back

    Well here's a hypothetical question.

If for some reason the Celtics make it to the Finals, and you were still watching the Finals, would you guys root for KG to get his B2B ring?

If it's against LA, Dallas or Houston, absolutely.

Against anyone else, probably not. It's not the le that's impotant really, they've already got more than anyone else and that wouldn't change if they won...it's all about who they get it against.

KG wouldn't be playing. So yeah I'd root for the Celtics to prove KG is overrated and that they can win with him or without him.

But that's not going to happen. The Cavs are going to destroy the Celtics.

Well I don't think they can without him really, but I think it's already been established he needed A LOT of help to win one. Ray Allen, Paul Pierce...and , Rondo may already be the best player on that team.

The way I look at it, KG missing the playoffs 2 or 3 years in a row pretty much removes all doubt that KG wasn't really a team carrier.

    I see FTL runs deep.

Personally, I'd hate for the KG/Duncan comparisons to include a B2B ring for KG, as something Duncan couldn't do.

And I think if it's the Finals, KG will be back for them.

Well there are two ways of looking at that...

#1. If not for the Lakers, Tim Duncan might have that elusive repeat, in fact he might have two of them.

#2. He pretty much the consensus choice as the greatest PF of all time by anyone considered an authority on the game while KG is the guy that couldn't get out of the first round for 8 years, then finally did(with help) and choked, then missed the playoffs 2 or 3 years in a row, then got traded to a team with at least two other HOF'ers on it and an assload of financial resources....

I mean c'mon, do you seriously think Tim Duncan and KG are equals? Whose career would you have rather had?

I just don't see that as being a problem comparison...

KG is the cool one...or whatever.

Duncan is the greatest PF of all time.

KG's team winning a first round series without him will say more about him than repeating will.

And I thought I was known for being a hater... You got everything down besides maverick fans, laker fans are WAY WORSE, believe me. The thing about J.J. Barea that pisses me off is everytime he scores the cameras focus on his face and he gives off this look like he's constipated with his mouthguarrd hanging out of his mouth grinning like he's got gold teeth and squints his eyes. Maybe that's what you're referring to...

And as for who I am going to be cheering for, any team except for the MF Lakers. I ing hate them with a passion, every single player, the coach, everybody.

Just to put this whole KG repeat thing into perspective...

Rajon Rondo is averaging a triple double through the first 5 games of this series...

    24 ppg
    10 rbg
    10 apg

He's also tossing in over 3 spg

And shooting over 50% from the field...

    And from 3...

I think that's a Celtics topic much more noteworthy than anything KG has done yet in his career...or will ever do.
