wrong. Scola was PF
Wasn't Scola the Center for the Argentine National Team and Oberto backing him up? So actually losing Yao means that the Rockets put Scola at his natural position.
they both started
C Oberto
PF Scola
Damn! In that case Scola is playing huge! Way over his head against the 7 foot bigs of LA.
This is one of those rare moments I agree with the little one . . .
From Cleveland.com:
- Luis Scola had 14 points in the first quarter on his way to 24 points and 12 rebounds in the Rockets' big win over the Lakers Thursday night. This is great for Scola, but also slightly annoying because Scola should absolutely be a Cavalier. Scola was supposedly on Danny Ferry's radar two years ago when he was traded from the San Antonio Spurs to the Rockets for Vassilis Spanoulis and a second-round pick. Given that the Spurs and Rockets are in the same division, you have to think that the Spurs would have preferred to take a similar package from an Eastern Conference team if one was on the table. For whatever reason, the Cavs weren't able to put that package together (is there are a similar package to one that involves Vassilis Spanoulis?), and Scola is helping the Rockets give the Lakers fits rather than playing with LeBron James. There are plenty of deals that could have happened but didn't, but failing to acquire Scola has been near the top of my list of disappointments for two and a half years. And I'm sure that Danny Ferry isn't the only GM that regrets not sweetening his deal to bring in Scola.
Duncan was fatigued in the WCF. Scola would have taken a lot of pressure of off Duncan vs the combos of Shaq/Amare and West/Chandler and provided the necesary help up front against Lakers bigs.
Scola's better than anyone on the Spurs outside of the big 3.
Spurs haven't won either in the time Scola's been in the league. And the Rockets had/have their own injuries to deal with.
No idea but Scola's a HUGE upgrade over garbage like Bonner/Oberto.
Scola almost always plays PF in national team some center of course also. Just like he plays some center with Rockets but he has always been the PF.
I love Manu but let us be honest. In this time Scola is for sure better than Manu is.
Manu + Scola on the Spurs, man that would have been sweet...
Scola 24 pts 12 rebounds. Duncanlike numbers![]()
There are some moves in business/life/sports that will always haunt you, Scola is one of those for the Spurs
To be fair, the Spurs FO has made plenty more right decisions than wrong ones. Can't be perfect.
He's faster and a better shooter and his numbers would be better if he played for the Rockets.
Both are chokers.
Scola's a piece of and so are his fans. They are by far the stupidest segment of fans I have ever seen. And they think they know so much...rolleyes And some fans still argue Splitter "is better than Scola"![]()
Not only that but they are gutless and only show up after good games.
I wanted to talk about Scola badly after the 40 point loss...unfortunately no Scola fans were around that night, they never are...much like they weren't around when Bonner butt ed Scola twice this season.
They only show up after good games...operating under the delusion that if they have numbers they aren't stupid...a huge fallacy IMHO.
Scola and his ing fans are s ...his career can't end soon enough so he can take them with him as far as I'm concerned.
They actually hurt the quality of basketball discussion on this board IMO.

Actually I'm frustrated because they gutless cowardly Scola fans never show up after his bad games.
Furthermore, I don't think there's anything ridiculous about my Scola statements, only people that are too stupid to understand the criticisms I am making and why I am making them.
And I do enjoy winding the Scola fans up...
I am truly amazed at how low their character is, that they can only show up after good games and still have the audacity to pat themselves on the back or think they have won something.
All they prove to me is that they don't know basketball, they are gutless, and they don't understand the crticisms I am making of Scola. Not only that but they're fairweather Spurfans as well...

He doesn't play him because he's a defensive liability. Landry has been the closeout PF for all of Scola's Rockets career. Dude is slower than Matt Bonner is.
Fail. Your understanding of my stance on Scola is 100% wrong. But it doesn't matter because whottt knows his stance on Scola is 100% wrong.
Actually it was an insult to both Scola Fans and RocketFans....which are pretty the same thing as far as I'm concerned. It's like a 3-D insult. Also his first comment was an insult to Rocket fans. lol
PS: The joke is on anyone that thinks my stance on Scola is going to change barring 4 consecutive championships by the Rockets. That's what will have to happn to justify all the ing and whining by Scola fans.
4 consective NBA championships.
Scola instead of Bonner as a starter. A no-brainer! Splitter was supposed to be here. The FO screwed up.
I will surely put the Scola giveaway in one of the front office's screwups column. And speaking of Splitter, that too was a screwup for not making sure he wasnt going to bolt to the Euros after we drafted him. So Scola and Splitter are in the screwup column. I sure hope Tahini does well this year or thats another bust.
All NBA performer Tony Parker was passed on by the Boston Celtics AND Houston Rockets THREE FREAKIN TIMES EACH in the 2001 NBA draft.
A much bigger screwup IMHO. T Long is a creep by the way with his going nowhere Blazers.
Maybe its because I am fairly new hear but what is up with Whottt's passionate hatred for Luis Scola???
He still doesn't get over the fact that it was traded to a conference rival for nothing...![]()
That's not true.
