This is a pretty good trade but SA definitely needs a legit center if they ever wanna compete with the top 2-3 teams in the league..Duncan is not getting any younger so atleast the Spurs are trying to make some things happen.

Great move he is athletic, good on defense and he is one of those Shane Battier black but not too black guys ...that are beloved in SA ...he will get along well wth Tim. (SEe Bowen, Robinson, Duncan etc.)
Problem is as constructed Spurs are still and out of your top 5 players only Duncan is bigger than Jefferson ..If Manu is healthy there is less minutes for Mason ..if Manu is not Hill is your only decent benh gaurd ....

But if helathy i think this makes you 2nd best in west ...especially if you keep Gooden ...then you can move Duncan to center start Gooden with Tony Jefferson and manu With bonner, MAson and hill as the reserves ...not bad.

I remember how I found out about the Jefferson trade. I was working at Wells Fargo and one of my co-workers who is a huge Timberwolves fan told me that my team just made a trade that would guarantee 2 or 3 more spurs les for the Tim Duncan era.

The Spurs lost their defensive antagonizer and their best big men sans Duncan.

They'll be weak at center, and RJ is going to take shots away from Ginobili and Parker who are more effective offensive players.

I think this trade will make them worse.
