You don't think Nazr fits in personality wise? His game has admittedly been a little disappointing, but everything I've read about him makes him sound like a typical Spur.
Good point. Makes me feel better.
Mr. Robinson
And here's to you, Mr. Robinson,
Big Dawg loves you more than you will know. (Wo wo wo).
Pop bless you please, Mr. Robinson,
Playoffs hold a place for those who play, (Hey hey hey, hey hey hey).
We'd like to know A little bit about you for our files.
We'd like to help you learn to help yourself.
Look around you, all you see are sympathetic eyes.
Stroll around the town until you feel at home.
And here's to you, Mr. Robinson,
Big Dawg loves you more than you will know. (Wo wo wo).
Pop bless you please, Mr. Robinson,
Playoffs hold a place for those who play (Hey hey hey, hey hey hey).
Hide it in a hiding place. where no one ever goes.
Put it in you jersey with your cupcakes.
It's a little secret, just the Robinsons' will care.
Most of all, you've got to hide it from the kids.
Coo coo ca-choo, Mr. Robinson,
Big Dawg loves you more than you will know (Wo wo wo).
Pop bless you, please, Mr. Robinson,
Playoffs hold a place for those who play (Hey hey hey, hey hey hey).
Sitting on a sofa on a gameday afternoon,
Thinking about the Milk duds you just ate,
Laugh about it, Shout about it, when you've got to choose,
This team won't ask you to lose.
Where have you gone, Mr. Logo?.
A nation turns its lonely eyes to you (ooo ooo ooo).
What's that you say, Mr. Robinson ?
"The Iceman has left and gone away" (Hey hey hey, hey hey hey)
KVH has been huge for Dallas
Well Glenn wasn't brought here to defend. He'll just have to make an effort on D, be in the right places, and shoot. It's not a high-risk pickup at all.
Exactly. What do we have to lose? Its not like we just signed him to a multi million dollar long term deal here....
[QUOTE=Solid D]The only thing I can remember close to this was in late April of 1990, when the Spurs waived Zarko Paspalj and signed Mike Mitc right before the playoffs. He was a former great midrange shooting Forward, over the hill but seasoned.QUOTE]
Zarko! The human victory cigar! Man when his ass was peeled off the pine, you knew the Spurs were up 20 pts or more. You gotta love a guy who sat in the smoking section on flights rather than sit with his teamates, and who regularly ate concession food on the bench. He retired after his first heart attack in 1999. He had a second in 2001 (he was 35 then). He now coaches in Serbia.
Right now, without Duncan and Brown, Spurs are pretty thin when it comes to putting a scorer on the floor with the second unit. Barry? Yes sometimes. Marks? Not really. Maseenburg, Nazr? Not much at all. Beno? Too shy on putting up the shot. Robinosn gives them a guy who can and will put up the shot and might even make it.
Maybe he could fill the role like Chuck Person did back in the day. The Rifleman wasn't exactly known for his shutdown D.
Not as good as the "Every Breath Malik Takes" song, but still entertaining.
Keep it up, User.
I just realized why Pop might have taken a chance on Glenn. They are BOTH from Gary, Indiana.
So, I guess this means that the Rose for Nazr trade is officially a bust?
Glenn is going to be our leading playoff scorer
j/k
but in all fairness, glenn robinson has a midrange jumper game, and no D, thats all i know about him....he also CAN score and HAS scored....
i can't believe noone has made the connection yet...
this is Ron Mercer part 2
He's going to have 2 or 3 decent scoring games then get booted...
But we still have nothing to lose in signing his old butt
Kori, why don't any other sites have this up, i am gonna check spurs.com, espn, si, etc again, btu so far are you the only one who knows?
Seeing as they don't play the same position, no.So, I guess this means that the Rose for Nazr trade is officially a bust?
With this move, Pop and RC have just OWNED the friggin CIA.
Never mind, found it on the spurs web site
I think Big Dog's stock fell a lot in Philly, but Chris Webber is now proving that it's hard to play next to AI, aka the Black Hole, and look all that good.
Philadelphia is poorly coached and basically are the Lakers of the East in that they do all they can now to cater to their one star. Look at how well Skinner, K. Thomas and Williamson have done since going to Sacramento. Philly is a career graveyard if your last name isn't Iverson.
Robinson is a big-time offensive talent, and a guy the Spurs couldn't have touched just three years ago. If he's in any kind of shape I think this is a decent move. As Kori said, there's little risk in this. The Spurs didn't give up anything to get him, and if he's not what they were expecting they can show him the door.
Where is Ghost? The Spurs front office is starting to behave like he always wanted them to.
How the did you come to that conclusion, Malike is a PF, Nazr is a C and Big Dog is a SF......So, I guess this means that the Rose for Nazr trade is officially a bust?
Where does Spurs news always break?
