I've been there. I've spent a lifetime rooting against Boston teams.
And I agree about the Phils. They'll be far tougher than the Twins or the Angels. Their lefthanded bats and arms make them a particularly difficult opponent for the Yanks.
Just hope the weather holds up along I-95 and the Series doesn't last until Thanksgiving.
Instead of trying to do anything possible to protect a 1-0 lead (not that they were going to hold the Skunkies to zero all game) Socia sits on his arse and lets Saunders meltdown to the tune of 4 batters and 3 runs before finally bringing in Oliver.
Hey re , this is an elimination game. How about having people up in the pen at the 1st sign of chokage. You had Jared Weaver, etc at your disposal.
Socia has become Torre. Regular season good then gonzo in the playoffs.
So after FINALLY beating Boston what did the Angels do? What did they do KSEAL? They LOST in the ALCS. And yeah they are ing idiots for how they played tonight and this series with those errors. At the end of the day, the Angels and Red Sox accomplished the same thing....no championships. You don't get a world series championship for beating Boston in round 1. At least when Boston overcame their Yankee demons in the 2004 alcs, they finished it with a championship. Angels overcame the red sox demons and LOST in the ALCS.
