If Kobe would get guarded with all the same shoveling he does on defense it would be a foul every time...
And I'm just saying, because the refs have been horrible for both sides...

Houston, you guys played with heart and there is nothing to be ashamed of when you lose this game. This Rockets team impresse me so much. They work well together, they hustle and they keep fighting.

If only you had big Yao, you would have been a real force to reckon with. Yao was playing better than I had ever seen him play last year before his injury.

Actually this was just a bad shooting night for the Rockets. Defense was allright.

The interesting thing about Yao Ming is that he actually makes the Rockets an easier team to defend for the Lakers.

His sheer size and presence means less guard penetration and more of a traditional halfcourt offense, which the Lakers are infinitely more capable of guarding.

I think one of the main reasons the Rockets were so compe ive during last year's playoffs was because Yao went out. The Lakers simply had no answer for Aaron Brooks who was given free reign to penetrate and probe on just about every possession.

i guess the lakers 47 rebounds a +15 edge has nothing to do with it right? contrast to last time they played at home when the rockets had 60!

When you look at Odom and Bynum's size then you look at Scola and Landry, then +15 should be the standard. Don't get me wrong, having Ron Ron out there increments dramatically the Lakers defensive game. But Rockets just couldn't hit a 3 tonight, which they normally do.

That's true. Phil does comment that Brooks just kills the Lakers. Their shooting was really off tonight though. Another win for you guys. Can't wait to see LA and the Spurs play next week.

No doubt. The Rockets with Yao don't scare me at all. With him they play right into our hands. But without Yao they are a real pain in the ass.

Actually Yao said he was excited about the new style of play of the Rockets. Last year he said they did more traditional pick and roll for T-Mac but Adleman insisted this year that they fully commit to the motion offense. It'll be interesting to see how Yao fits in the new uptempo offense.

You really need to let go of the blaming the refs thing... You do it every damn game. It's a move reserved for Spur and Suns fan. You're better than that.

    see:

I just tuned in and the first thing I saw was Bavetta. Rockets have no chance.
I'm debating wether to stay up and watch the rest of the game.

Agreed again small "big men" give us HUGE problems (pun intended) ...Landry, Leon Powe, Boozer (sometimes) Milsap, malik Rose (back in the day) because we have traditional big men (shaq, Gasol bynum)
