That's funny. If you need someone to be a distraction while you run away, Bateer would have to be on your list. Along with Will Perdue, Rasho, Sean Marks, Carl Herrera, and Jaren Fatass Jackson.

That was because Ferry got up in Camby's . And Camby waited till Ferry's back was turned before he grew a pair, didn't he?

He then lunged after Ferry, who had his back turned on the sideline at the time, with a punch. "He poked me in the eye, bloodied me up," Camby told teammate Larry Johnson later that night. "I wasn't going to hit him until I saw the blood in my eye." Translation - he wasn't going to hit him until he saw the back of Ferry's head.

But if I ever needed help fighting Jeff Van Gundy, I would definitely call Camby.

Second, DRob never sought confrontation, and may have been image conscious to avoid it most of his career, but that ONE moment when he let slip and grabbed Joe Smith, you knew the man was capable of voilence.

Spurs finish off Timberwolves Posted: Saturday May 15, 1999 on cnnsi.com:

Robinson and Joe Smith, two of the league's most mild-mannered players, tangled just before halftime, and Mario Elie, who was in the trainer's room for s ches above his right eye thanks to an Anthony Peeler elbow, was whooping and hollering.

"I was watching that on TV and I said, 'Is that David Robinson on our team ready to fight?'" Elie said. "I love that. David's got to show some emotion. You know guys can't just bully him around. This guy's got pride and he's strong.

"It was good to see him react like that," Elie added. "A guy threatens your manhood and you've got to step up. That's what Dave did and it sort of got him fired up and he came out and had a terrific second half for us."
