I agree, a lot of the tackles were bad. I'm talking about a 6 ft 2 man rolling around on the floor, then as soon as the free kick is awarded getting back up like nothing had happened.

It's not just Brazil, every team does it and it pisses me off.
Muser I'm there with you man, pisses me even more when it's our team doing it. But refs consistently fail to penalize with yellows for that in every league in the world, soooo

Brazil's flopping in underrated. Lucio is probably the biggest flopper in the world, with his trademark 6 barrel roll.
I know right? He's a beast of a player, one of the best defenders in the world and he plays like a .

Does it make any sense that cards can be rescinded, but goals cannot be changed?

Seems a little bizarre to me. Obviously that's not a deserved red, even though Brazil players were flopping like crazy, but it just highlights how poorly these games are being officiated.
What gets rescinded is the suspension for the next game. It doesn't affect the outcome of the game where the red card happened. There's a huge difference

This game basically went - Samba kicks ass, Ivory gets chippy with horrible e first fouls like the one on Elano that should have been a card, Samba starts flailing around like they get shot (Fabiano!) every time they get touched, and Ivory does the same, Kaka goes full re and gets a warranted yellow then bad yellow and gets sent off, Samba wins.

No way this was worsely officiated than US v Slovenia, the officials lost control of this one but didn't intentionally screw a team out of a victory. I'll take losing control of the match every time over screwing a team out of a win.

If FIFA really wants to curb the acting and pussy theatrics they'll start handing down video replay after the fact suspensions for that stuff, possible multiple games if it's bad enough. They won't do it, but it won't stop unless you just go short of issuing the soccer death penalty for it.

Rossi's penalty kick awarding acting job is another example that screwed NZ.

IMO if a player is caught playacting it's a straight yellow, that way it would stop overnight.

Can you imagine a linebacker rolling around on the ground during a play?

lol Brasil media are dubbing Fabiano's goal as the "Fabulous Hand" already.

I'm glad we won by more then one, or we'd never hear the end of this

this is football nowadays .. better to act than to get injured .. see elano .. hopefully it's just a powerful hit and no serious damage, the padded protection should really help his case.

hey look at the nba, the kobe likes don't even need to act at fifa at least you need training.

tomorrow the oscar favorites come to play.. al hail!

Considering yellow cards do not get wiped until after the quarterfinals this time around, Kaka forcing the red might have been the sensible thing to do...

who the says like that in the first place?

futbol/soccer is nowhere near as physical as american football, it does require more endurance due to running alot, but... that's it ... rugby on the other hand .. having seen and played both games i can say the all blacks can beat the out of any american football team. I mean THE OUT.

That's your opinion, mine is different. A ref with any experience at all knows you never call a borderline foul in that situation late in a tied game. This ref actually invented a foul that never occurred. It wasn't borderline, it was a pure fabrication, also in the face of at least 3 obvious slovenian fouls in the box. You'll never convince me that politics didn't creep in there. Never. It's over now and the US got a break with England sucking hard so a win still gets them through, but they would have had a strong hold on 1st in group if not for politics. Hopefully even as 2nd in group if they win they get Ghana and not Germany.

It's supposed to be like that. Refs were really cracking down on that last world cup. I dunno why they went backwards now.

Funny how Euro teams shrivel in fetal position when they're not playing in Europe. Let's hope we keep it up!

But, but... the Eurocup is harder than the World Cup!

This world cup has been pretty damn bizarre. Non of the teams that made some noise in the qualifiers is playing up to par, and the teams that didn't are having the WC of their dreams. I just don't get it.
