No, it's a digital readout at the doctor's office. I'm 6-4 so I hide it well.
You look fat but I don't know about 405 fat, but you know better than we do.
Is it possible that you're so fat you can't see the scale?

I'd bolt and become Clooney's neighbor.
Keep working hard bro. Fitday.com has software that makes it very easy to track what you eat and mentally get the situation of weight loss under control.
If you can find some healthy food that you can tolerate/like, just make a bunch of meals of it and eat the same thing every day. It'll be hard at first but once you get the hang of it - it's worth it. 5k calories of junk food is easy to do in one day. 2k calories of healthy food actually gets you pretty full. I know how it is.
Try to figure out how many calories you typically burn in one day. Then subtract 500 calories from that number and eat that every day. No more, no less. You are guaranteed to lose weight this way. Exercise is going to be hard being heavy but you basically have to crawl until you can walk, and walk until you can run. You could lose a lot of weight just by lifting weights really. Don't be embarrassed to go to a gym. The people who know reality will respect you for working your ass off and taking control of your life.
It all comes down to discipline. You can beat the depression, but you have to fight back like you have no other option.

Not to your extent, but I identify with this, except for the bipolar part. It all started for me when I was 8 years old. Before that, I was a typical kid with a little bit of a belly. I grew up in a house with a backyard pool so from April to September I would swim almost every freaking day. I played sports a little but I was a video game kid then, and I am now. So swimming kept me somewhat slim. Then at the beginning of summer break at 8 years old, I broke my wrist. No more swimming for me the rest of the year. That summer, I sat around and ate junkfood all day, nearly every day. Even though the bones healed and the swimming resumed the following year, the bad eating habits and lack of good exercise never went away. Also since most of my family is heavy, didn't make for the best role models, diet wise. Food, especially bad food has always been a comfort thing for me. Some people have booze, others have drugs. Crap food is my vice.
I topped out at 255 about 3 years ago. Keep in mind, I'm only 5'8". I've slowly dropped about 35 pounds over the past 2 years thanks to my job throwing freight. My eating habits haven't changed much and I'm still a lazy bas outside of work but because of the amount of calories I burn for 35 to 40 hours a week, some of the weight has come off. Also with my marriage taking a dump and dealing with that for nearly 2 years, I've caught myself gorging on the crap food more than usual at times. I've gotten better about it in the last few months. I don't keep sweets in my house anymore. A swig of chocolate milk gives me a nice sugar fix if I need one.
And now that my divorce is all but final, my stress level will drop so I won't reach for the doritos as much. I've been starting to exercise in small doses, too. Walking a few laps around the nearby high school track, exercise bike, that sort of thing. I still have a weakness for the junkfood but if it's not in the house, I don't go out for it. But being in a grocery store 5 days a week makes it easy to pick up a few things after my shift. Sometimes I stop myself, sometimes I don't.
My goal is to get to about 200 by the end of this year, 160 by the end of 2011.
Anyway, the whole thing about a personal chef, personal trainer, etc. is the kind of thing I would do if I won the lotto.
fun topic. let's say i win $100 million after taxes, i would..
1. hide it.
2. don't need to pay off debt because i don't have any yet
3. finish college
4. set up enough money in CD accounts to live off of, i figure $30 million at even 1% interest would be $300,000 a year. then i'll probably match that number with the money from my pot of gold and live off of $600,000 a year. and of course, get a financial adviser to plan this.
5. won't spend money right away. since i'm hiding it, won't really help my parents out until i get a little older so they don't get su ious. i'll say i have money in "stocks" later.
6. however, i would immediately start donating heavily every year to my college, which has given me a full ride all this time. i know people like to donate to charities, but my college would be the main organization benefiting from my fortune. would also buy a new car but that would come from the interest money.
7. pretty much continue my original life plan. travel the world for a while maybe through teaching english oversees. with the money, i can travel like james bond. after that, go to grad school, then settle into a nice career. i have ideal jobs in mind and if i don't get them, then it, i'll open a business or something.
8. after i finish grad school and all that, then i will spend money on a house and cars. by this time, i'll be a little older and i'll be able to help my family without them getting too su ious. i would stick to my "stocks" story.
9. if i get lazy and don't want to work anymore, i'll probably become a teacher since they get summers off. not high school though, maybe community college.
the key would be pacing myself.
I wouldn't just give any of my family money but what I would do is pay off all their depths and maybe a nice gift for them. I would set aside an amount for blow off money to have fun with then the rest I would probably invest in Cd's after paying off all my depths of course.
I seriously think one of the most important things when it comes to losing weight is to stop thinking every single thing you eat has to taste great. Think of it as just fuel for 5 days a week and then eat stuff you actually like the other 2 days. If you're 16 and play basketball every day then you can eat whatever you want and be in good health, but if you're sitting 40-50 hours a week in an office, you obviously can't be eating chips and fries all the time.
It's all about digital download now. If you win the lottery you could spring for an ipod.
