Really? Brooks seems like a very likeable guy, why didn't they get along?
Brooks is likeable, when Ariza would call (about 65% of the time) for the ball when Brooks had it, Brooks would either not see him or take the shot himself, and Ariza had bad body language, throwing his hands up in the air etc, and go yell at Brooks. Plus, on another message board today, someone posted that Ariza got into an ugly confrontation with a teammate

Pacers are finally headed in the right direction. You're looking at:

PG: Collison/Price (excluding Ford since they're most likely gonna buy him out)
    SG: D.Jones/B.Rush/Stephenson
    SF: Granger/Dunleavy/George
    PF: Hansborough/McRoberts
    C: Hibbert/Rolle?

Granted, this is still a lottery team. But there are some decent pieces in place. They just need an offensive 4 and a scorer off the bench and you're looking at a 4 seed that'll be eliminated by the Heat for the next few years. Sad that that is how we will be judging success in the East now

sons this is an outstanding move by the Hornets and adds even more proof that they are committed to winning and keeping Paul. Why would they trade Collison if they are planning on trading Paul within the next 2 years? ... regardless haters are gonna hate. Great move. They unloaded the dead weight that 34 year old Posey carried and added a solid starting SF in Ariza. Peja will continue to play from the bench and then he will also be unloaded at the trade deadline. Carmello will be in New Orleans next season with CP3.

on multiple occasions Hayes is put in in the last minute to defend a play where the opposition makes it so that the big has to guard the guard or the play maker handling the ball.. With the game on the line he has made the defensive stop on switch offs multiple times.
He cannot guard SF's. He is a solid defender. If you tried to play him at SF, he would fail on both ends of the floor.

Steal for the Pacers. Collison is a legit talent. Some people have re edly viewed this influx of pg talent wrongly and thought it was merely a product of systems that made pgs look better than they are when actually the NBA has had a series of great point guard laden drafts and now has an abnormally high level of talent at that position. Given that the next couple of drafts will probably revert to normal, Indiana took advantage of this market.

LOL Baby Andrew. If it was a cost cutting move only, then they wouldn't have gotten a decent player in return, who has a better upside than Ariza

Ariza sucked. He had to go. He was causing problems on the court in public and in the locker room. Dude has no handles, turnover prone and was a chucker. Defensively he's supposed to be an elite defender. I didn't see that watching Rockets games. Couldn't hit a shot if his life depended on it if he had to handle the ball even a little bit. He was given the green light to shoot the ball in Houston but his grade in the shooting department? "FAIL"!!

All around a bad fit for the Rockets.

If he doesn't handle the ball and stays to his role as a spot up shooter, he might be ok. Don't let him try to dribble the ball through traffic though.

That's Adelman's fault for rying to turn Ariza into something he wasn't.

Christ is Rocketfan ing stupid if they think Lee is a better fit/player. Your owner saves some luxury tax on this deal. That's it.

For Adleman's offense, yes Lee is a better fit. Just like Ariza is probably a better fit in the Hornets offense.

Ariza's best fit is in the triangle with another playmaker ...

I think Cp3 will help him with getting him lobs and open 3's but he had open 3's in Houston and struggled ...

Ariza messed things up he could be in the Barnes role and would of been paid more than Barnes to do it ...

BUt his agent went for this deal. If he went to teh Cavs he would of been in an EVEN worse situation right now ...

I fell bad for the kid but he overplayed his hand and IF cp3 leabes he will be in a world of ...

No way Melo leaves Nuggs for Hornets ...if he leaves it's NJ or NY or Chicago ...otherwise he re-signs.

Melo is not Lebron he will get someone to join him in a prime spot ... just teasing.

    In the end ...
short-term I think Rox loses onthe talent side unless Lee really blossoms. That is 2 trades in 2 seeasons for Lee ...

Long-term Rox in good shape ...with savings.

Like many said they really just need a bout of good health ...BUt they are relying on 2 of the most injury riddled all-star caliber players these past 2 seasons in Yao and Martin.

Lee was hurt last year too IIRC ...

I like Collison. Was surprised he dropped. Collison and granger is good combo and I hear Hibbert has been working hard.

Hornets if Ariza plays like the 2009 playoffs good pickup.

Say what you want about Lakaluva and others THEY said repeatedly that Ariza was not worth that KIND of money and that his game had holes ...

Many Spur and Rox fans ARGUED he was value at that $ and that we didnt appreciate his contributions...

I think he is better than Luva does ...but you guys were saying artest would cripple us with his shooting and his d had slipped badly but when we needed Artest he came through ...Like Ariza with BETTER 1 on 1 defense ...

He'll be perfect next to CP3. Huge upgrade over Posey.

Ariza got paid and the Lakers weren't paying Artest AND Ariza when they were 20 million over the luxury cap threshold and Odom still wasn't resigned. It was either or and the Lakers chose Ron Ron. Buss even took matters into his own hands by wining and dining Artest. If the Lakers really wanted Ariza over Ron it would have been the other way around.

I think Lee will be fine in Houston. He had a very productive rookie season, and I feel a lot of his struggles last year was about him just not caring after being sent from one of the best teams in the league to the taint of the NBA. That could negatively affect any player. He is now back on a winning ball club, with his summer training partner (Martin) with a coach that will put him in the best position to succeed. I have a feeling that he is going to blossom under Adelman.

Agree he will be better, perfect not so sure, his 3pt shot needs to revive

You maybe right but me thinks if Ariza takes discount he has a chance to be signed ...according to what I read: Mitch made an offer, his agent balked. Meanwhile Artest balked at a 1 year in Houston. Mitch told Ariza well seek offers and give us a chance to match. BUT Artest put out feelers... Buss got involved and the rest is history.

TBH when initial offer was made to Trevor I dont think Artest was available ...

Truth is Trevor was much better than Shannon Brown but had his limits as well and he wanted to be paid more than his worth.

Ariza to Y! on CP3 call: "(Paul) just calling me let me know he was comfortable where he is and with the steps the organization is taking."

    SpearsNBAYahoo

More Ariza to Y!: "(Paul said) I'll do everything to win. I'm just more hungry now. Just getting to the playoffs is not good enough for me."

    SpearsNBAYahoo

Ariza to Y! on Hornets: "I want to win and help them win. I want to be an All-Star there."

    SpearsNBAYahoo

Ariza told Y! Sports he was "surprised" by Rockets trade to New Orleans and didn't ask for a trade, but he's ecstatic to play with CP3.

son we will be a playoff team this season, but next year will be very exciting and promising. The ownership transfer will be completed by the end of the year and Chouest is a Louisiana, billionaire willing to spend to win. Peja's huge contract will be off the books and will make room for another max contract. Paul is campaigning for Melo and I could easily see it happening.
