In an interview with the sports channel Showsport Cordoba, Fabricio Oberto seems opened to the possibility of returning to play basketball.

“I have to finish some studies but the doctor tells me I can have a normal life if I pass. So, we will see,” he said even if he announced his retirement after starting the season with the Portland Trail Blazers. Fabricio Oberto, who is awaiting to open the museum of his life on December 12, said: “I still train. I go to the gym. I think I’ll keep trying to see how I feel.”

“The most important thing is now to be in good health,” he added in an interview reproduced by World D.

I love Fab, but I wouldn't want him to come back if it was bad for his health. At least, it seems like he feels the same way.

I guess he just didn't want to be in the NBA anymore. I don't know if he'd have been better than Blair if were on the Spurs, but at least he had familiarity with the system.

I assume that's an Argentine team. Assuming it's not because he's broke, it's good news that Oberto is back on the court. IIRC, he had some messy family stuff (divorce?) that kept him sidelined for a while ... not to mention his heart condition.

Atenas is indeed an Argentina league team, from the same province he was born in (Cordoba).

Looks like it was one of the teams he played for when he was really young:

Good question... I think overall Diaw but he is much more agile than Fab was. Considering what Fab was.. he was a great passer. A favourite spur of mine tbh.. did he job very well

Diaw has the passing edge because he can do it on the move, having been a wing/guard for the early part of his career.
