    The real travesty is that a team with one of the best starts in NBA history only has 2 players on the team. Parker got shafted, but he will use that as motivation to dominate the league in the 2nd half so it's all good.

    ummm 17 and 6 is not All Star caliber numbers son. again ... the All Star game is based on individual stats and performance. The Spurs don't have any legit All Stars, they only allowed Manu and Duncan on the team simply out of pity. neither of them have All Star numbers.

    Duncan should be an all-star assistant coach. Their just showing him respect. A lot more players are more deserving. You guys shouldnt get so butthurt IMO. Gasol shouldnt be an all-star this season either. Lamarcus Aldridge has done much more this season & still gets no love. Kevin Love's numbers are crazy good also but his team doesnt have a top record.

    I'm not going to deny that the East is much lest compe ive, but try to be consistent with your argument or you come off looking like an idiot. If Manu and Timmy are only on the All Star team out of pity, then the same goes for Pierce, Allen, KG, and Rondo.

    But then again, I guess you probably do know a lot more than all of the West coaches that decided these guys deserved to be on the team...I mean, what the do they know about basketball?

You could virtually take any player in the NBA, plug them into Pop's system, and the Spurs would still be a good team. The NBA feels pressured to put players from both the Spurs and the Celtics into the All Star game because at some point a few years ago the NBA got away from what the definition of "ALL STAR" really is. just like with the MVP award it no longer goes to the most deserving player, just whatever team is winning. Not ONE Spur has standout, impressive/All Star numbers this season. Manu's shooting percentage is a joke.

    The Celtics are a diff story. They've had a few injuries & each player had to step up at certain parts of the season to maintain their good record. This thread is about Duncan barely contributing this season to the teams success..Manu deserves to be there, he carried the team in the first 30 games & SA would probably have 5-6 more losses if Manu didnt come through in some of those close games.
