I am annoyed, but at least with Cuban it makes some sense. They wanted to know what was happening with the CBA before extending. That's logical, whereas Tyson's issue is that his pride is wounded. I can get onboard with something that makes financial sense even if I don't really like it.

It's not logical to have other teams showing interest when they have the same CBA stuff to figure out. He's not saying they are low balling him, he's saying they aren't really showing interest. Who knows.

He has said he wanted them to make a deal with him before the lockout, and it took like hours into the deal finally being made for him to be talking about going anywhere but Dallas. I doubt they just "didn't reach out to him".

Well, either way, he was a major player and they aren't showing him respect (it appears) so he should be upset. Every player would be. Especially after Cuban paid Dampier/Diop and a list of other bad bigs.

And I'm not to proud to admit that my opinion is partially colored by being bitter at him for leaving. I am annoyed with the Mavs for not going all out to woo him, but I think he's being unreasonable.

Brenda got a 6yr $55 mill contract, Erica a 7yr $75 mill contract. I think he was way more valuable this one year than those two players ever were for the Mavs. Cuban overpaying those two scrubs is what set this scenario up...Chandlers actual value might be in the $12-13 mill range but not in Dallas. I think $17-18/yr for Chandler would be reasonable and something he would agree to, wouldnt be surprised if Cuban gave him that tbh.

Everybody has been singing his praises for nine months, and deservedly so. Without him the Mavs would still be O & Forever!.

    Give him the ing money.
Did Artest deserve $20M for bailing out Kobe?

IF he makes more than $15 mill Cuban is a sucka and the window will be closed sooner rather than later ....

Give him the full 4 years if he shaves a couple million off the per year numbers ... maybe 4 years 56 gets its done. No way he should get a max ...or close to it.

How about talking GUARANTEED money in those contracts? Thats all what matters, not the total numbers.

Dampier had 60/6 guaranteed and the last year was the dust.

Haywood has 41.5/5 guaranteed and the last year is a "Woodchip".

And btw Haywood isnt overpaid with 8.4 a year and for sure he isnt a scrub.

I didn't expect a "discount", but I expected him to be somewhat reasonable. He was key to the championship. I appreciate that. But he is not a max contract player.
you got reports saying cuban wants him at 10 million. i mean thats a paycut from his last contract and way below market value. if they can justify it as take the cut so we can resign butler then i think he might do it. but its just so cuban can save money for 2012.

Wow people acting like 10 million a year is chicken feed. That's 122K per game in an 82 game regular season. How the can that not be enough?

This is why we had the lockout in the first place, people over valuing players.

Yeah Chandler's at ude is the opposite of Dirk. Dirk wants to be on a winning team. Chandler just wants a big paycheck. I thought this team was too old to win it again anyways. Time to rebuild.

    This.

People saying that a guy is worth 20M because he was the third or fourth fiddle on a championship team? GMAFB.

Put him on a team without two or three All Stars around him and a HOF point guard to lob him oops, and Chandler wouldn't do , and that's probably what's going to end up happening for whoever breaks the bank for him.

14 mil seems fair. Players coming off a championship year always expect a bump in pay raise. That's one reason why its so hard keeping teams together.

Yeah, let Houston give him a huge contract and then people realize that Kyle Lowry isnt Jason Kidd and Scola isnt Dirk...

What's funny is I don't think I even included Kyle Arrington in that prediction and he's leading the NFL in interceptions

To be fair, the Pats have had so many secondary injuries they have ing Edelman playing nickel.

Of course, the secondary did suck so bad that he wasn't that bad of a replacement. Hey DoK, would you rather have Edelman on defense or offense? CROFL
