And for those of you bringing up Manu, he's clutch, but don't act like he's never ed up in late game situations.
You can ask that TP homer Brazil over there, and he can tell you I don't "hate" anybody. I think some people are over sensitive these days when it comes to criticizing him after Tony received some rightly undeserved criticism in this place.
And for those of you bringing up Manu, he's clutch, but don't act like he's never ed up in late game situations.
I thought you were a fan. Shows how much I pay attention to your posts
that was funny right there
brb, I gotta go disagree with timvp
Heh... it's pretty much inevitible on game nights. The beer buzzes wear off, and people start sounding like Jack Nicholson in The Shining.
Manny, Manny... never said that. All I said is that he doesn't dribble and dribble like a maniac in closing situations like that.
bull . who says that?
What turnover concern? He's having his best assist-to-turnover ratio of his career. Obviously, losing Manu and possibly Ford will hurt his chances of sustaining thay but he's been playing like great floor general. He made poor decisions with the ball, but the game was more so lost on the defensive end.
I'm waiting for someone to start a thread called "Manu The Glass Man". It won't get made though because Manu's a fierce Argentine warrior!
That's nothing compared to Tony taking an open 15-footer tonight in the closing minutes. Selfish bas
Who's stopping you? BTW, that thread has been made before, including the trade Manu threads... You couldn't miss them when he had that stress fracture in 2009...
Do you really want to compare Tony and Manu closing games?![]()
I don't think any non-GNSF are mad at TP. I don't always agree with Timvp, but guys like Manny are quick to jump on people (like myself) that have a valid opinion on TP this year. I agree with Timvp on this, but people want to add to what my argument was and take away from the point I actually make. The opinion is that he hasn't been himself in a time where the team desperately needs him to be his best. The fact is that his numbers are in line with someone who has declined. That's all.
Yea actually I take that turnover concern back, that Grizz series was too small of a sample size.
But yea I liked Parker's energy and overall effort. There were a few bad plays from Tony, like his late passes and when he was talking to the officials rather than trying to play, but I think he's finding rhythm and alleviated some scoring concerns.
Spurs could've had this game but as a team their overall execution left a lot to be desired.
I can't even keep a straight face with you anymore. I refuse to get sucked in.
He entered the game tonight with the best AST/TO ratio in the league. I'm sure the 7 turnovers he had tonight won't help that, but it's not like TO's were a problem in the first 9 games.
You are just being an idiot tbh. I don't get what is so damn hard for you to get. Was what I said wrong? Was I hating on TP. Did I not provide stats to back up my opinion and did I not qualify my opinion with the fact it was early in the year to draw a definitive conclusion?
Which is complete bull and you know it. Ginobili has gotten stripped, tooking ill-advised shots and made dumb fouls just as much as Tony, if not more in the clutch. Peoplee around here act like Ginobili's infallible or a mix between Reggie Miller, Michael Jordan and Jerry West in the clutch.
Its just that people around here like to gloss over that, suck Manu's and balls, and gripe about Tony when he screws up. If Tony had made that foul against Dirk or had Fisher knock down 0.4 over him, then he would never hear the end of it. Thankfully, I don't think average Spur fans have a stupid agenda against him like Spurstalk.
Nah. That's like a 4-hour argument right there.
You made a great case, da point guard. Go bother Manny
For the record, I didn't completely disagree with you. I was just lol'ing because You'll turn this into an all-night thing.
I get why gheys like Jag and Manny are sensitive to TP; the idiot haters are annoying. But they act like GNSF themselves with their arguments they apply to everyone when that simply isn't the case. Manu gets plenty of hate. It's dumb. But there are valid criticisms for him. Same with TP.
Let's not pretend like the hate that goes on here for those two players is proportional.
No
It's not just here. He's widely regarded as one of the top closers in the game today. Doesn't mean he *NEVER* makes mistakes. All closers did at one time or another, including the ones you listed above.
So the inbalance of "hate" is what bothers you?
We go through this every season. Manu plays balls out and people hate on Tony. Due to playing balls out, Manu gets injured, people hate on him (he shouldn't have played on the NT team). Tony picks up the slack and furthers the fuel on Manu hating. Manu comes back and we start the cycle again.
IMO, it's the trolling from people like cheguevara and triggeredexcelsiorwhatever that drives them up a wall...
