I'd go with the Suns. They'd never be able to win the Finals. The Spurs could.

How would your time here be if one of these two scenarios came true, Curly

    1. Duncan get's a 5th ring this year
    2. Nash gets his first

    or "You're 1 & 43!!!"

just doesn't have the same ring to it. RIP to our resident parrot if either of that ever happens, tbh.

He should be. The perception last year was that the Spurs were soft, which is why Memphis tanked to get them.

The Lakers proved SA is still soft. If you're any of the bottom seeds and you had your choice of LA, SA, or OKC in the first round, who would you want to play?

    Give me the Spurs, please.
Lol, playing up a regular season game. Too borrow a DD phrase, Pops just "coasting".

I could take the 1 & 43 better than I could take the 5-5. I've divorced myself from the Suns guys enough to see it clearly. I'm married now though to the Spurs guys and I'm blinded by the hatred.

This Lakers team is what it is. Mediocre and worse than last season.

Already stated many times, which prior to fluke game, you mostly agreed with.

It's simple, they have the big advantage up front, but they don't use it.

Numbers dictate that when Kirby plays, the dominant front court gets less than 50% of all the shots out there. Coupled with an aging star and no bench.

This has been re-hashed many times over, not just by me, but by Lakerfan in general in these very same forum.

Already stated too why the Spurs are not contenders, and why Memphis is worse than last season too.

Your take? "Let's wait till the playoffs start because I've been wrong bout dem Grizzlies "
So your only reasoning for the Spurs being able to beat the Lakers is that Kobe will do the work for you?

You're talking about a player that has on your team more than any other player in NBA history, with the possible exception of Hakeem.

No wonder only the ty and disreputable spurfans on here agree with you that SA can beat LA

lol your fanbase buying into another fool's gold season, but when the Lakers come into town and slap you (w/o the league's leading scorer) it all of a sudden doesn't matter.

So you think your team is still a contender? Because of Kobe?

Please start a thread explaining how this Lakers team is a contender, using good basketball takes and not gnlf like "lol Kobe>MJ"

When did I say the Lakers were a contender? Beating a fool's gold team does not make you a contender.

They are built for the playoffs, but unfortunately they have pretty much no reliable depth outside of Barnes, and Gasol remains a major Wildcard. They cannot beat a Miami or OKC as currently constructed.

Also, you're getting desperate b/c I've never said Kobe>MJ, but you, however, have repeatedly overrated the importance of coaching in the NBA.

You're lack of knowledge on the sport makes sense for a soccer-first fan, though

So we agree that neither Lakers or Spurs are contenders. Why are you arguing then?

    "Built for the playoffs" non-contenders...

Like I said, there's a reason only the dumbass spurfans on here agree with you that SA can beat LA.

It's borne out of homerism and irrational thinking. ball doesn't work in the playoffs. "Let's just chuck up some 3's and play no D and we'll win!"

Lemme guess the next gray response: "bu-bu-but Hollinger's (hero of the s) advanced metrics say we're not that bad defensively!"

No. Spurs are indeed mediocre defensively. But so are your Lakers.

That said, Spurs rely less on 3s this season. A lot less. They're not even among top 5 in 3 point attempts.

But you're going to tell me how the Spurs play

You can drop the act anytime now...everyone and their mother knows that the Lakers are the last team you wanna see in the playoffs. Just about every respectable spurfan has acknowledged that, but you hold out hope that ball will prevail over our massive frontline

I'll fear the massive frontline when they get enough touches, aka, when Kobe retires

Heck, if Artest doesn't drop his fluke 26 points, it's anybody's game.

How does the stomping by Lakers show the Spurs are still soft DD?

It was just that, a stomping. Are we really too take anything other then the Spurs got throughly ed that night?

Spurs still got some frontcourt problems yes, but are far better then last year so I dont think soft is the word you want to use in this instance.

When your bigs shoot a combined 16-44 but still dominate the opponent, that opponent is soft.

Getting outrebounded 30-2 is not soft. I don't even think there's a word for that
