Spurs reserve center Tiago Splitter will have an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the wrist sprain he suffered early in the Spurs’ 106-91 victory over Utah in Game 1 of the Western Conference playoffs.

Splitter, who left the AT&T Center after Sunday’s game, said he injured the wrist while bracing his fall after tumbling early in the first quarter. He continued to play after the fall, scoring four points with one rebound in seven minutes of first-half action, but did not rejoin the team on the bench to start the second half.

The 6-foot-11 Splitter is the only other traditional big man on the Spurs’ roster besides Tim Duncan, and is considered an integral piece of the game plan for handling Utah’s oversized frontline.

DeJuan Blair, a 6-foot-7 forward/center, took Splitter’s place in the rotation Sunday and would likely see an increased role if the big Brazilian is shelved for an extended period. Blair finished with five points and two rebounds in 9:46 — all in the second half after Splitter’s injury
So he did play through it to finish the half. That's a positive tbh. Hopefully it's not too bad and he's able to get back into the thick of things later on.

Honestly, I think McDonald's #hinthint was referring to this being really minor and another " upset stomach" missing games type of thing.
I may be really naive, but I took McDonalds #hinthint to be an effort to tell his Twitter followers to stop asking him about any update on Tiago's condition during the game.

Let's hope there is some duplication.

I think Bonner is programmed to play for an 82 game season and he just thinks it's still the regular season. Let him keep thinking that.

Bad luck, but better now then against the Lakers or OKC. Blair can at least kind of matchup against Millsap.

Hopefully it's just a sprain and Tiago can be back in a week or so.

That's ok. We just have to win every series in 4 games. So after the NBA-Finals, San Antonio has played 16 games during the playoffs + the 66-game season and we would have the "regular season-bonner" all the time, instead of the "playoff-bonner".

Alright, that makes sense more than the midair collision FSSW was showing. If he got hurt falling down, hopefully it's a run of the mill sprained wrist that he can tape up and play with.

Considering Splitter has such a low pain threshold, there's a chance this is nothing. This is one time his low pain threshold is reassuring, tbh.

Tiago is a big part of the success Spurs been enjoying. In order to move forward in the post season we need Tiago to be healthy

I suppose. There's a chance an asteroid hits the earth tomorrow, too. RT @texastoutah512 is there a chance Tiago is gone for the playoffs?

Apparently, most of the 7 mins he played was with the sprained wrist... I think he can probably play through it, but I wouldn't discount Pop being very cautious about it.
