This site was great as an escape to talk b-ball (back then), but now I've channeled it as an outlet for anger, ridicule, and racist humor that I can't rightly display in everyday life w/o repercussions. In a way, ST is therapeuticyou guys need a hobby
My husband has as much interest in ST as I have in the Homebrew sites he posts on.
I do show him "interesting" threads and posts though, but mainly for his professional opinion----he's a psychiatrist and sometimes other posters' totally floor me with their opinions and beliefs (about bio/psycho/social things), so I think it's funny when he confirms that I am correct in my assessment that they are crazy

Took my husband to a gtg a few years back. Him and Bo talked most the night. He's cool with it. Until last year we met Viva & MM a Freebirds & when we got ready to pay our tab Viva went to the bathroom, so hubby had to pick up his tab. Prolly last time he'll go w/me to another ST gtg!

I tried putting how incredible your average Mono e-radio show or beandip comment is into words, but alas, they would not listen.
This day and age, meeting women on the internet really isn't that strange depending on age. A middle aged man who's recently divorced, been away from the dating scene for awhile, and is completely surrounded by married friends using dating sites to meet women is pretty normal imo.
Someone my age who's in college/in an environment where they interract with single women every day.....yeah, using the internet is a little weird.
I will say the way Manny met his girlfriend on the internet or how Kori/timvp met is more normal than a dating site. Meeting someone on a message board that's got nothing to do with dating at least means they met through an interest they share and were drawn to each other while neither had the intent of meeting someone on a message board. That's a lot more healthy than meeting someone because eharmony paired you two up as "great matches"
IMO online dating is a LAST ing resort...maybe I'm just saying that cuz I'm still young (18) and its easy to find women still because of work and college. I guess if I was lonely at like 40 MAYBE then I'd try online but right now it's a joke in my opinion.
But hey, if you find your true love online because you like what she put in her profile information, then by all means go for it

This wasn't a case of some lonely 40 year old recently divorced guy finding someone online, this was a young guy in college who freaked out all the chicks in his classes. The fact that he not only met his gf online at a young age, but looked to spurstalk to make real life friends with mostly middle aged GTG goers as a YOUNG man confirms what I'm saying.
Geeeeez...can you imagine all your friends and gf coming from the internet?
